HARTFORD, CT - The Hartford Grizzlies won their first game under their new management this week, however, they nearly choked under the pressure.
Head Coach Toby Namdlatr nearly choked on some nachos he was eating during the game. Apparently he was not used to the nachos served at the stadium, "Most other stadiums have really greasy nachos, so it helps them go down. This were crispy and they just stuck in my throat." As he was on the receiving end of the heimlich, the offensive coordinator went for it on 4th down in the 2nd quarter from his own 44 yard line! Coach Namdlatr had this to say about the call, "There's a reason why he is a coordinator, and I am a head coach, I have a head to use!"
Aside from turning the ball over on downs, and an interception returned for a touchdown, Hartford shut down the Boston attack. However, Hartford was not the potent offensive force we had expected this season. Namdlatr claims that he implemented the ConnecticUt RiVEr Offense (the famed Curve Offense) for this game. The same offense he developed at Southwest Northeastern Connecticut State College. "After running the ball for the better part of two games, I thought we would throw them a Curve. It also allowed us to see what we have in our rookie Moss at QB." Aside from the interception, Moss performed well. He went 18 of 33 for 161 yards and 2 TDs. He came through when it mattered though. Down 20-7 and with first place on the line, Moss lead the Grizzlies back to take the lead with the opening drive of the second half. He then added an insurance touchdown in the 4th, as the Grizzlies improved to 3-0.
