I still say yearly awards should be yearly. They should include the playoffs. No disrespect to Suicane and the winners, but if you don't produce in the playoffs then saying you were the best player of the year comes up a bit empty.
That doesn't in any way diminish from this years winners. St. Louis was a machine and they deserve their due. Congrats to everyone who won!!

I protest these awards due to the fact the Lawrence Wiggins didn't win the Special Teams Player of the Year.

Jave, so any team who did not make the playoffs should not have an award winner? Rookie of the Year should be from a playoff team? Special Teams Player should be in the playoffs? That's just whack homie.

Suicane, nice work on the magazine cover man, it's perdy.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

I didn't make a blanket statement Cring, but don't you agree if your going to say that the best player in the IFL was McMurray, then why was he watching the IFL bowl on TV? Make sense? No, not every single award should be given to a player or players that were involved in the trophy game, but I don't think the players are given the credit they deserve.

Tobias Stanfield 4294 yards, 29 touchdowns 9 interceptions. Takes his team to the Imperial bowl game, wins it and gets the MVP award. Theres your player of the year.
Like I said, this isn't a blanket statement. ROTY won't necessarly be in the championship. Osbourne was a great pick at that spot. He had a monster year and wasn't in the playoffs. But for the big dog awards I believe you must take, or help your team at least get deep in the playoffs. And as is the case with Stanfield, theres your true league champion.
I'm not sweating this, it's just my opinion. McMurray was a beast this year though so this isn't personnal. Grats again to Suicane!!

Football is a team sport. If the MVP didn't make the Imperial Bowl, or even conference title game, because his defense gave up 35 points, or because of a fumble by the RB, or because of a million other reasons, then yes it is totally fair.

Now, if you had said guys should have considered someone else over McMurray because he threw 4 picks in his one playoff game, then I can accept that much more. To say it should only be someone from one of two teams though I will never agree with.
