After a disappointing season opener at Fargo, the Power have decided to make some changes. Power's headcoach Kent Silvanic has decided to make some key personnel decisions himself, going against the conventional wisdom of offensive coordinator Jumbo Kellenberger.
In the absence of rookie starting QB Alvin Mann, The Power's Offensive coordinator tried splitting time between his remaining quarterbacks giving each a half. Silvanic has called for a single QB this week and Quigley will get the nod for week 2.
While starting runningback David Rodrigez will see an increased role in the offense, current backup runningback Douglas Mohan will be demoted to thrid string after fumbling twice. Mohan will continue with his kick return duties. Vaugn Cronk who played well in the preseason scoring 4 TD's and a pair of two point conversions in the final 3 games will be given some carries as D Rod's backup.
The Power's woes at center continue as both starting and second string centers remain sidelined by injury. The third string center Joe Bernard found himself sidelined briefly as well suffering from a broken nose, he is listed as probable and will likely be forced to play through the pain this week.
Concerns over the performance of the special teams punt return squad has lead to the Power's only freeagent signing this week. The team would like to welcome punt return specialist Garth Gates. Garth will takeover the teams punt return duties going forward.
