My draft results aptly demonstrate why I've been the worst GM in the FOFL, and offer no hope that I will fare any better here.
Draft position / POS / Name / Future change after TC
1-6: RB Barry Battles (0): Battles looks to be a decent RB. Currently ranked the 3rd best RB in the IFL in potential. Not having a 100+ hole recognition will probably make him less valuable than fellow rookie RB Crawford, drafted 25 picks later but with a fully developed 100+ HR rating.
2-8: DE Earl Randle (-3): Randle was a combine beast who projected as a pass rushing monster. His 3 point loss in TC sets him up for a 10-20 point drop in the next few seasons. He probably will be out of the league in 3 years.
2-21: OG Isaac Handey (-1): A horrible 2nd round pick. The only way drafting an OG this high makes sense is if he is a 100+ run blocker or a boom. Handey is neither, although his combines pointed towards a boom. He couldn't start for any IFL team now or in the future.
3-7: QB Randall Burns (-6): A massively disappointing pick. His off-the-charts INT score make us think we had a boomer for sure. Instead, he is useless and will likely be cut.
3-20: LB Rico Tyler (-4): Another no-combine guy who is a failure. Both 3rd rounders probably won't be on our roster next season.
4-6: TE Thomas Valle (0): With his bars, the only way Valle was going to be worth anything was if he boomed. We hoped his great 40 and agility numbers were indicative of a boom. We didn't get it. He might hang around as a 2nd TE.
5-8: SS Brock Bessany (-6): A CB with bars more suited to SS, we changed his position prior to TC. He'll be cut.
6-7: OLB Edwin Randle (+5): Don't let the +5 fool you. He's no boom. He went up because we changed his LB position. He's useless.
7-6 WR Oliver Kelley (-9): Obviously useless.
So, we had 2/9 stay the same (1 of them is useless), 6/9 flop (most will be cut), and 1/7 post a false increase (cut). If you have 9 picks and no booms, you are a horrible, horrible drafter. My division rivals have nothing to worry about.
