Like a thief in the night, the Oakland Devils made a last second call to one of the leagues top scouts, Lance Schott. Lance had been working with the St. Louis organization but was eager to make the move to the next level and within the hour, had signed a 5 year, $560,000 contract.

Lance becomes Oaklands 3rd scout in their 7 year history. The team started by hiring Fred Jamison who was retained untill the 2006 season when he was fired and young up and commer A.J. Patterson was hired to bring some respectability to the position. After a disapointing 3 year run, Oakland was finally able to snag Schott, who is considered to be the real deal, and one of the leagues finest scouts.
