    Most Valuable Player

Chris Chaplin, QB, Salt Lake City Stallions (click for player card)

The ex-Bulldog and ex-Snipe Hunter took the Imperial League
by storm smashing the single-season QB rating record with a mark nearly six
points higher than the previous record holder (107.5). In addition to
great individual achievements, Chaplin helped the Stallions win the NC West
Division for the first time since 2004.

    Others that received votes: Tim Austin, TUL; Jay Caro, POR;
Nigel Booker, HOU; Alan Crespo, NWK; Julian Cartagena, CBA; Gene Hamilton,
OAK; Harold Lozier, NFK; Tobias Stanfield, LAW

    Offensive Player of
    the Year

    Jay Caro, QB, Portland Seals

The 27-year old southpaw is the first IFL player to reach the
5,000 passing yard mark. Caro almost single-handedly carried the Seals
to the playoffs after the team started 0-5. He also tied the
single-season passing TD record and had a career low in interceptions
    thrown.

    Others that received votes:
    Tim Austin, TUL; Chris Chaplin, SLC; Alan Crespo, NWK; Olin Holst, STL;
Wilford Timmerman, HOU; Audrey Beamer, IWC

    Defensive Player of
    the Year

    Matthew Bramlett, DT, Houston Renegades

Bramlett dominated the DPotY voting after
having one of the most complete seasons ever for a defensive tackle in the
IFL. Besides racking up 57 tackles and 19 assists, he also had 11
sacks, 8 blocked passes, and 24 hurries. Those numbers would make
    ex-Viper
    Robbie Devore
    proud.

    Others that received votes: Jeffrey
    Gregorio, CLE; Dennis Gallup, OAK; Louie Maldonado, STL; Willie Ames, BOS;
Gregory Boyd, NWK; Omer Flaherty, LRK; Kenneth Jones, ANC; Calvin McGary,
    VER; Chris Sanborn, NWK

    Special Teams Player
    of the Year

    Don Croft, K, Newark Bulldogs

In a very bloated vote Croft edged out return man Percy
Brenner with a Gary Anderson-esque season. While he didn't miss a
crucial playoff field goal he did make 92% of his field goals. Croft
was 9th in the league in scoring with 117 points.

Others that received votes: Percy Brenner, NFK; Haywood Tate,
    AQU; Walter Walker, NWK; Lionel Childers, LAN; Carter Garland, BOS;
Broderick Austin, LOU; Dave Jordan, OAK; Gaston Lomeli, OAK; Richard Rath,
SLC; Wilford Street, ORL; Nathan Winslow, MAD

    Offensive Rookie of
    the Year

    Charles Bell, RB, Madison Demons

The IFL's 10th-leading rusher made a mockey of the ORotY
ballot. Bell complimented the Demons offense by piling up nearly 1400
yards on the ground in addition to 12 touchdowns.

Others that received votes: J.B. Lincoln, CAL; Andy Kelso,
    SLC; Lamont Shepard, CLE

    Defensive Rookie of
    the Year

    R.J. Kley, LB, Lawrence Phantoms

The DRotY vote was not any closer as 'The Leash' ran away
with the award. The young linebacker totaled 105 tackles, 39 assists,
and 3 sacks in an overall excellent rookie campaign.

Others that received votes: Marshall Brummit, TUL; Fernando
    Moss, POR; Eric Jacobs, NFK

    Breakout Player of
    the Year

Chris Chaplin, QB, Salt Lake City Stallions

What more can be said about the Stallion MVP. After
unfulfilling stints in Newark and Iowa City, Chaplin brought the kitchen
sink with him in 2008 as Salt Lake City got nasty in the National
    Conference.

    Others that received
votes: Mercury Buckner, CBA; Paul Mosqueda, TUL; Jason Bolinger, HOU; Ruben
Sante, NWK; Sammy Mathews, IWC; Chris Sanborn NWK

    Executive of the Year

    Stevebsfan, Houston Renegades

In one of the IFL's feel good stories in 2008, Houston GM
Stevebsfan finally brought playoff glory to the south Texas franchise.
After acquiring one of the IFL's best quarterbacks in the offseason in Nigel
Booker, the Renegades finished with the league's 2nd-best record, just
missing out on the AC South crown.

Others that received votes: VitoStallion, SLC; HammeringJohnson, TUL; r00k,
NFK; BuddaKingII, ANC; JesterBlaze, LAW; Suicane, STL

I'm well aware that the formatting looks like ass. I learned a valuable lesson and will go about doing them a different way next season.

Congrats Steve ... you were my choice ... very deserving in a division where St. Louis and Louisiana have dominated the headlines in past seasons.

Great work Steve, I look forward to next year. I'll try to be a little more competitive. Congrats to all the other GM's receiving votes. For me, it was a very tough decision.

I voted for him since he single-handedly beat us early on in the season. His YPC was better and he had more receptions.
