Some things never change: Teams travelling to Columbia and Pittsburgh this year will find the usual potholes in the turf.
.... but these famous fields have added company this year. Houston and Salt Lake City have joined these two models of toxic wasteland and are now also included in the Who's Who of Injury-R-Us. As it would have it, three of these desolate locations reside in the NFC. Break a leg, NFC.
Some do: Norfolk is the only team to unveil a new or renovated stadium ... ant it looks like Viper ownership did it in style. The new stadium is a renovation of the old "DMZ" that was originally built in 1976. Already one of the loudest stadiums in the league, it now claims to be the largest stadium in the IFL and seats 80,500. This eclipses Lawrence's 80,100 seat stadium which had the honors of being the largest in the IFL. Norfolk and Lawrence are the only two stadiums that can seat 80,000 plus screaming fans . Norfolk will innaugerate its renovation on Sunday vs. division foe Hartford.
