  • Imperial Football League Fan Fare - Week 9

    Greetings Gentlemen,

Sorry for the missed week last weekend. Lois made me spend time with those retched people she calls family.

For our interview of the week we welcome the GM from Vermont, Coder.

Stewie: Good Afternoon Coder, and welcome to the IFLFC Fan Fare

Coder: Thank you very much Stewie. It's great being here and meet you. Here, I've brought the jerseys and bobble-head dolls I promised you!

Stewie: Thanks Coder, the fan club has been asking about these. Greatly appreciated.

Stewie: Now that the IFL has hit the half way point in the season. How do you feel about Vermont's chances of being in the playoff this season?

Coder: I'm pretty certain that we will reach the playoffs, despite our pretty average start. NC East is tight as always, but I feel we have the players to come finish the season with a winning record; something which I'm pretty certain will bring us at least a wild-card spot.

Stewie: How Max Brown doing on his rehab? Do you see him returning if the team makes the playoffs?

Coder: Max is still on crutches, but I'm positive he'll be back for the post-season. We're pretty well covered in the receiver department, but obviously a player of his calibre is always missed. Ostrowski has picked up a lot of his slack, though.

Stewie: R.J Robinson? How is he developing? We noticed he has not gotten the playing time that most number one picks get?

Coder: I'll have to admit I'm a little disappointed in R.J. He's not been paying as much attention to players like Scott Daniels as I had hoped. He's still young and needs to learn the pro-game. He didn't prove anything during the pre-season, allowing a few sacks that I thought were very questionable. I'm hoping he'll start watching Scott now that he's back from the knee-injury and should be on the field a bit more often for the second half of the season.

Stewie: With the season half way over? Who do you consider your team MVP for the first half of the season?

Coder: Virgil is a fantastic quarterback and without him we wouldn't be a winning team at this point. Our defense isn't as rock solid as it has been previous years so we need to put a lot of points on the board and Virgil is doing just that.

I'm also very pleased at how Larry Ostrowski has picked up the pace after Max Brown went down. He's on pace for a career-season and I think he'll keep going.

But if I only get to pick one, it's definately Virgil.

Stewie: Finally, We know it is early, but with there being alot of teams jammed at around .500 (8 teams currently fighting for 2 wild card spots) how do you feel about the NC playoff picture?

Coder: I'm certain that Madison and Reno will pull out division winners, while I expect Texas to get a run for their money from Little Rock. As usual, the NC East is a closely fought story and I think we're dead even. Lawrence or Vermont will take the title as far as I'm concerned.

I think the division will be decided in the next two weeks when we first take on Orlando at home, then travel to Newark. We should definately win both those games and prove that we're contenders.

As I said earlier, I'm positive of at least a wild card spot. I think that the wild card will go to either NC East or South.. much like the situation looks like today.

Stewie: Thanks for taking the time with us Coder, best of luck the rest of the season.

Coder: Thank you Stewie, it was great talking to you!

    IFLFO Game of the Week

    Texas 6-2 @ Little Rock 5-3

The game that many in the IFLFC have spoken about this week. The Toads are hopping mad after losing last week to the Fire in a game they should have won. Texas has held up well against all challengers so far this season, and have already beaten the Toads this season. The IFLFC is going to go with the Toads in this game as they rebound from a tough loss.

Razorback fans indeed. Toad fans are not too sure which direction Texas is from Little Rock, so it wouldn't be them.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.
