I had some extra time to burn in Norfolk. Something to do with a four hour delay that cost me a day on my trip home. So here is the return of the RASBSB Power Rankings.
But enough rambling, here are the rankings. . .
Rank Team Comment 1 Norfolk Vipers The defending IFL Bowl champions, blah, blah, blah. The combined record of the Viper opponents is 10-22. I thought that after you win a Bowl, you are supposed to have a tough schedule? Smell conspiracy? I put Norfolk on top, because no one has beat them. If they had one loss, I would have them near the bottom of the top 5. OVERRATED! 2 Vermont Mountaineers I think I could actually put Vermont in the #1 position, and argue, sucessfully for it. They have the #1 Offense and the number 3 Defense by my almost scientific calculations. Be warned, Vermont is the team to beat in the NFC. 3 Iowa City Snipe Hunters Speaking of knocking the Vipers out of the top spot, anyone notice that the first PRs I have made in the last three seasons come on the eve of my biggest game ever in the regular season? It is not a coincidence. I need all the help, including the curse of the PRs to topple those dam Vipers. And for those of you who say that my Offense is too anemic to warrant the third spot, remember that these are the almost unbiased rankings. . . 4 Reno Wolfpack Since Not the Raiders, the Horsey Show, and the killer fish are all having issues, Reno is on top in the NFC West. Of course the do sport the #1 Offense, so they are actually a force in the NFC. Their D is ranked 9th in my almost scientific rankings, but they seem to keep the games too close. It is ok though, they should have no problem riding the division to a playoff berth, maybe even with a top seed. 5 Albuquerque Matadors Kelly "Crisp" Wheat. . .Crisp? WTF? Anyway, the breakfast runner fo the Mats is out for 16 weeks with a high ankle sprain. This may be the downfall of the Mats who have been riding the "Crisp" all season. The Mats are also worried that Crisp may end up with a suspension for having a nickanme that just doesn't make any sense. Cringer, your hearing this? Fuckin Crisp. Add a damn Y or something. Crispy Wheat would kinda make sense. . . (Editor Note: The Author rambled on for 16 pages about the nickname, we deleted for your protection) 6 Lawrence Phantoms The #1 Defense in the leauge by my calculations. And who dares to challenge my calculations? Defense wins games, plain and simple. Having the #3 offense doesn't hurt either. I thoguth about movign them up 2-3 spots, but with two losses, I just couldn't do it. The only real game they have played so far is Madison, who they whooped. If they keep up the number production, they may quickly move up. 7 Cleveland Clawz The Broken Finger Nailz are 1-2 against top 5 teams. All three were very close games. The slow offense is clicking and despite a slow 3-2 start should have a late season run. 8 Columbia Fire My formula for determining the rankings goes like this: (O-Rank + D-Rank -TurnOvers + Losses*10 - SoSModifier -Bias) When I found out that a 3 loss team was in front of 4 2 loss I teams I cranked up my losses multiplier to 15. Columbia did not move. They were still at 8th. So I thought, numbers don't lie, so if Columbia has the 4th ranked O and 7th ranked D they should be a top ten team. So I'll leave them be for now. The Great JC should be able to improve that record. 9 Anchorage Lynx 10 Orlando Pirates 11 Little Rock Toads 12 Texas Hell Riders 13 Portland Seals 14 Madison Demons 15 Fresno Chaos 16 Newark Bulldogs 17 Murfreesboro Mules 18 Dakota Spirit 19 Oakland Assassins 20 Houston Renegades 21 Hartford Grizzlies 22 Wichita Medical Center 23 Lansing Ogres 24 Salt Lake City Stallions 25 St. Louis Cardinals 26 Louisiana VooDoo 27 Pittsburgh Power 28 Canadian Thundershickens 29 Boston Dragons 30 Vancouver Killer Whales 31 Tulsa Cows The 2nd worst D in the league. Don’t let the 2-3 record fool you, this a certified basement dweller. 32 Virginia Bees Due to Cap issues, the Beasts are changing their name to Virginia Bees to help save money on letterhead
