I like it. Nunnery's solid as heck in limited action. Ageless wonder. Devore is the ancient beast in the middle for us, though. Another decent game from him.

I figured it'd be good to add some kudo's for Mtl's veteran QB. Good concept and good thread for that kind of thing.

        Week 2 VOW:

Norfolk QB Daniel "Welcome Back" Cotter

This 14 yr. veteran was forced into action due to the injury suffered by Harold Lozier in week 1 against Boston. Cotter led the Vipers to a 21-20 victory over Orlando. He completed 24 of 35 passes for 289 yards. The fact that Daniel is normally a 2nd stringer and that this was his first start in 3 years makes him the Veteran of the Week.

        Week 3 VOW:

        Madison K Paul Pickett

Paul is a 14 yr. veteran and in the Demons game this week against Texas, he went 5 for 5 on FGA and also added an XP in Madison's 22-17 victory. Paul bailed out Madison as their offensive unit was only able to put the ball in the endzone one time. Paul is 13/13 this season and leads the league in FG made and FG attempts.

          Week 4 VOW:

          Columbia QB Gerald Sanders

One of the oldest players in the entire IFL, Gerald had a very solid game against Vancouver. He was 25/44 for 325 yds. and 2 TD's. His effort was not enough as the Fire ended up losing 20-22. Gerald was traded soon after this game and now plays for the Houston Renegades.

          Week 5 VOW:

          Iowa City OLB Amos Hassler

Amos had a very solid game against Montreal this week. He was able to rack up 8 tackles and also added a sack. The Snipe Hunters went on to win 37-0 in one of the biggest blowouts of the IFL season so far. Amos is in his 10th season and was named to the 2nd Team All-IFL in 2004.

Fire missed a two-point conversion attempt or they would have tied it in regulation. *wipes sweat from brow*

                Week 6 VOW:

                Orlando RB Allan Ho

This is the toughest week so far to win this award. There were a lot of old guys that played big for their team, but Mr. Ho gets the nod. Allan rushed for 149 yds. on 36 carries and also scored 3 TD's. His efforts helped lead Orlando to a 33-27 win in OT. One of the main reasons that Allan won the award was due to the fact that he only had 144 yds. in the first 4 games total. Allan is in his 12th season and was 2nd Team All-IFL in 2003.

                Week 7 VOW:

                Dakota MLB Charles McCourt

Charles ended up with 16 tackles and 4 assists in the Spirit's 20-3 loss to Orlando. The total was a career high for Charles as he is in his 10th season in the IFL. The IFL single game record is 19 tackles which is held by John Maynard.

                  Week 8 VOW:

                  Tulsa WR Tyrell McCoy

In Tulsa's 37-6 thrashing of Columbia, Tyrell McCoy made his opportunities count. He had 3 receptions for 95 yds. and two of them went for TD's. This was the first time that McCoy had scored twice in the same game. He is in his 11th season and he currently has 17 catches and 4 TD's on the season. Tyrell is also the leader of the receiving corps in Tulsa.

                  Week 9 VOW:

                  Columbia QB Julian Cartagena

The man they call JC gets the award this week. He was 20/33 for 327 yds. and 2 TD's in the Fire's 30-27 win over Little Rock. JC has been named player of the week 20 times during his career. He has also been named 1st Team All-IFL in 2003 and 2005.

Sorry mates. I won a bunch of cash playing bingo so I had to take the misses on a long vacation.

I'm back now and hope to provide some insight on the wiley veterans of the league.
