The Washington Redskin' Hogs could be the most celebrated offensive line. So "where is the IFL beef?

The average weight of a starting offensive lineman in the Imperial League is 310 lbs.

There are only 3 teams who have offensive lines that average in excess of 320 lbs per man.
Portland wins the "Where's the Beef" 2007 Award.
 Madison comes in a healthy second.
    West Virginia is third.

On the other hand, there are two teams in the IFL who have offensive lines that average less than 300 lbs per man.
:haha: Both Wichita and Salt Lake City serve tofu at training camp!

Compare your team to the Division Winners from last year.

    > Cleveland - 309
    > Louisiana - 306
    > Norfolk - 317
    > Albuquerque - 312
    > Pittsburg - 304
    > Little Rock - 311
    > Vermont - 312
    > Oakland - 313

:!: Mr. Irrelavent, a honor given to the last player picked in any given draft -- 32nd in the 7th round. The IFL have had four Mr. Irrelevants, excluding the allocation draft in 2003. One has surpassed expectations.

        2004 ... Ben Ross, LG
        2005 ... Kenny Harkness, RB
        2006 ... Vince Skupin, RB
        2007 ... Wesley Burns, CB

Harkness and Skupin have retired. Burns was not signed after being drafted by Norfolk this year and is now a FA. :loser:

But Ben Ross beat the odds of becoming extinct and presently starts for the Orlando Pirates at LG with a rating of 52/52.

:!: All eight divisions of the IFL have been represented once and only once in the league's four Imperial Bowls.

:scratchhead: Coincidence or game design ... you choose. Regardless, two divisions will send their second representative this year.

:!: "Blue Chip" players of the IFL are honored when they are selected either 1st or 2nd TEAM ALL-LEAGUE at the end of the season. One team has earned such an award for a player only once in the four year history of the league.

The Texas Hell Riders were beginning to get a complex, until finally , they got on the "awards board" last year when Glenn Bess was announced as 2nd Team WR.

Boston is not far behind. They have had only two such players.

Texas has had such a hard time because fellow division mates, Columbia and Little Rock have been stealing all the thunder. Columbia leads the league with 11 such awards and Little Rock has hoarded 10.

Salt Lake City has also received 10 all-league player awards.

:?: 3-4 or 4-3 What is the trend this preseason?

The 3-4 defense is in the minority as only 11 of the 32 teams are playing the 3-4 in the preseason.

 But don't tell that to the AC East. All teams in that division are using the 3-4, at least in the preseason.

 The only division that is the sole proponent of the 4-3 is the AC West.

:!: The state of Texas has hosted two of the four Imperial Bowls, once in Beaumont and the other in Waco.

The first Imperial Bowl wast held in Phoenix, Az and the most recent was in sunny Sarasota, FL.

 Jave, GM of the Assassins, has been , pointing out that it is time to bring the event to California, just in time for the Assassins return.

 However, the site selection committee members have turned down his past , and insist that the stakes be raised to .

                        LOL.

Well, the commish here is in Texas. By the end of the season I don't like to travel far. So hopefully most of the Imperial Bowls will be in Texas. Imperial Bowl V though, since we are do for one of these I think, will probably be in a snow storm in Wyoming or something.

Well..............if members do NOT want the Imperial Bowl in Cali, then someone stop me this year. I don't see that happening, but I thought I would toss that out there anyway.........................
