The Phantoms, without RT Michael Hayes and LCB Daniel Lenhart, travel to Oakland this week to face an Assassins squad that maintains a slim edge over division rival Salt Lake City for first place in the NFC West. The Assassins are accomplishing this feat despite the suspension of the freakishly talented Lance Delano for violating the league's "No Violence" policy during this past off-season.
The Assassins are immensely talented this season and appear to have the edge in almost every area of the game according to league scouts, however you wouldn't know that from talking with some Phantom players:
"People forget that Oakland players traditionally don't last the whole game against the Phantoms. They're soft. We've got the same squad as always defensively. We still hit just as hard", said RDT John Ortiz.
"They have a very solid team", LDT Edmund Peacock had to say "But part of our game-plan and mind-set is to be extremely confident, perhaps cocky even, so I'm naturally looking to go in there and physically dominate. And if I know anything about Wayne (Rogers) and Johnny (Ingraham) it's that they will be looking to do the same to me."
Both of these teams are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive and I, for one, will be tuned in on Sunday to watch them battle it out!
