The "one year" plan. Recognizing that the run defense was seriously lacking this year, Oakland general manager Jave bargined the future for right now, bringing in Lansing stud defensive end, Abel Purifoy. Already over the cap for next year, Oakland has no plans to resign Purifoy, and according to him, thats just fine; " I am not here to start my career, those days are long since past. I am here to win a championship, bottom line. I felt this was a good trade for me, I am winding down my career and want a ring. Thats what it's about, thats why we run through the tunnel every Sunday, to get one step closer to being the best."
Purifoy will join newly acquired RDE Richard Mitchell and long time Assassin, Derek Nelson, who will move inside to LDT for run support. This will make the Oakland defensive line one of the strongest in the league. The days of running through the Assassins are over.
The schedule doesn't get any easier as Oakland travels to Madison for a huge game Sunday. They can not afford another loss this early and will be fighting for blood to stay alive in the competitive race in the National Conference. Stay tuned.............
