  • Hartford Defense Collapses Late; Grizzlies Fall to .500

Wheeling, WV - The Grizzlies looked stunning for 58 mintues, then fell apart. The Grizzlies outgained the Beasts 264 to 238 total yards (84 of the Beasts came on their final drive), won the time of possession battle by more than 11 minutes, held West Virginia to 2/12 on third downs while succeeding 10/17 times themselves, but came up short 10-7.

Jim Hickman had another rough outing throwing three INTs, but he completed 18 or 27 passes for 7.1 yards per attempt. Numbers that Grizzly quarterbacks of the past could only dream about.

Jamison was unable to get on track, as he only managed 59 yards on 22 carries. The rest of the team fared slightly better getting 43 yards on 12 carries.

The defense playing its usual team game, was led by linebackers Boyer and Leong. However, they went to sleep on the last drive as the Beasts drove 84 yards on 10 plays in 1:55 to take the lead.
