The Bulldogs are 2-0 for their first time ever. The cost has been steep. Star RB Alan Crespo was banged up pretty good in a very physical OT game. Crespo's status for this weekend's game vs. Vancouver is questionable. Right now there is a 40% - 50% chance Crespo suits up. If he misses his first career game, vetern RB Colin Blain will start at the RB spot. It is hard for the Bulldogs coaching staff to justify risking further injury to Alan this early in the season. The Bulldogs may also be without starting LG Malcolm Singleton. Singleton is dealing with knee problems. To make matters worse, starting WR Walter Walker was also hurt in Sunday's game. His status is probable. In total, there were 5 new players showing up on the injury report.
Without Crespo in the lineup, look for the Bulldogs to pass the ball. They've got the options at WR and a QB who has the talent to get the job done. Hopefully the Bulldogs can start off their 3 game road trip on a postive note. Maybe then more fans will show up to the game when the Bulldogs return to the Dogg Pound in Newark.
