  • Offensive Line

    Oakland Press, Oakland, Ca

    Offensive Line

    Center
    Wayne Rogers

It all starts here. The hands down, best center in the league starts his 4th year with the Assassins fresh off a new, 4 year, 23.94 million dollar contract. Starting every single game of his career(48 and still going), he will anchor the new and improved offensive line for years to come.

    Left Guard
    Chad Jerome

Acquired in the blockbuster trade with Vancouver for RB Wesley Connell, Jerome will man what was once, Oaklands weak spot in the offensive line. Paired with Rogers, Falkenberg, and Ingraham, should improve his play to a championship level and give RB Lomeli, plenty of choices to run through.

    Right Guard
    Johnny Ingraham

Aother of Oaklands "Rock" players, Ingraham has started 48 straight games on the offensive line and has developed into one of the premier guards in the IFL. Allowing 9 sacks his first year, he has cut that down to 3 in 04, and only 4 last year. This could be the year he finally recieves some credit for his hard work, has Oakland will lean heavly on him to give RB Lomeli some room to work in the new offensive.

    Left Tackle
    Gus Falkenberg

While he may never recieve awards, or be the player of the game, Gus Falkenberg does exactly what the Oakland coaching staff wants him to. He is a solid player who has improved every year, and does not get greedy come contract time. Gus is a perfect fit for this squad, and will continue to start at the LT position for years to come.

    Right Tackle
    Don Barnes

While he may not look like much, feel free to underestimate Mr. Barnes. Just don't be suprised if he puts you on your ass attempting to get by him! Allowing a staggering 9 sacks in his first year, he has improved in each of his past 2 years, only allowing 5 in the last 2 years, a mere two last year. Only missing 3 games in his career, he is yet another of Oaklands consistent front line that will protect Hamilton this year.

What the fuck? Are you now Jeffs pet monkey? The only reason the league is not showering him with praise is because I have not been a strong running team, which reduces the statictics that the player can rack up. But then again..........you knew that. Right?

WTF does Jeff have to do with it?

Percentages are used when attempts are not equal, or in this case opportunities to make a play. Not only has Rogers had more opportunities than Baker, but Baker has more KRBs. and then there is the percentage which Baker wins hands down. I think they are

Daniel Baker 35.2% BPct (48 games) 108 KRB out of 306 KRO
Wayne Rogers 28.6% BPct (48 games) 104 KRB out of 363 KRO

Baker is better than Rogers .. and Baker ain't even the best Center in the league.

There are 8 centers in the league with more career KRB, 5 of them with fewer KRO. Most have around the same number of sacks given up, with many of hem having more pass plays. I would say, stat wise, West Virginia's David Gandy and Boston's (new from SLC) David Oglesby seem to be the better two C's stats wise to me.

The game does not generally give awards to teams with losing records. Look at Ken Allmon. He had a great fucking year, and not even a fucking sniff at an award. The same holds true for Rogers. If we had at least made the playoffs, he would have been first team all league center. Bank on it!

Dude, a 30% key run block percentage is not good for a center. It's merely average or just a touch above it.

And I'm not even sure what your obsession is with Allmon.

The little man Jan Roy from Lawrence is in his 40's ratings-wise and has given up only 9 sacks in 48 starts! Career RB% is 27... not sure how good that is.

347 tackles, 123 assists, 5 sacks, 4 interceptions in 3 years. If that is not impressive to you, you need to seek counceling.
