Week 6 Matchup: @ Iowa City
Week 6 will see the Whalers head into Iowa City (5-0) to take on the undefeated Tribe. Iowa City is the 2nd rank rushing offense in the IFL, averaging 207 rushing yards a game. The defense will have there hands full with 2nd year RB Tucker Lane. He is the 4th ranked RB in the IFL with 462 yards rushing.
On the other side of the ball DT Avery Rice will be looking to hold the Whalers offense to little production. Rice has 5 sacks this season which is good for 3rd in the league just behind Hartford's DE Yamashita who has 5.5. This could end of being a well played defensive battle. The Whalers will need a big game from QB Phillip Hitchcock if they have any chance to win.

Game MVP: Graham Easy (22/34, 255 yards,2 TD,106.9 QBR)
This cold and rainy week 5 matchup in Hartford quickly became a one sided match and not in the favor of the Whalers. For the 2nd game this season, the only points Hartford could come up with came off the foot of kicker Jonah Alstatt. Graham Easy made winning look easy in this one. His 2 touch down passes to Mercury Westfall and Corey Horner would prove to be enough to get Columbia there first win of the season. RB Jackson Battle racked up 116 yards rushing with 1 trip in the endzone. There is little doubt that 7 penalty's by the Whalers would also go on to be crippling for this team.
Columbia’s defense deserves a lot of credit as they dominated throughout the game. Hartford QB Phillip Hitchcock was sacked 5 times and threw 2 interceptions in this game. The Hartford offense was never able to get anything started and as much as that was poor play by the Whalers, Columbia proved there record is not who they want to be. This is a game that Hartford needs to learn from, but also forget and move on.
