Early Life
Jack Stram was born and raised in Taos, New Mexico, the son of Darla Leigh (née Pittman) and Irvin Earnest Stram. Both of his parents were schoolteachers in the Taos Municipal School District.
Jack was the second of four children and attended Taos High School where he played baseball and football. Stram started for the Taos High School baseball team as an eighth-grader and earned five varsity letters. He played quarterback, lineman, strong safety, placekicker, and punter in a primarily option, run-oriented offense coached by his father, Irvin Stram, who was the head coach of the Tigers football team.
Irvin Stram said he knew his son had a great arm but also knew that the school was blessed with good running backs. As a result, in the three years Jack was on the team, his father ran the wishbone, a run-oriented offense. Stram rarely threw more than five passes in a game.Wake Forest assistant coach Kevin Higgins, who was scouting new football recruits for the school, watched Stram play during a New Mexico Divisionl football game after receiving recommendation from many nearby coaches. Higgins, observing Stram mostly hand the ball off in running plays in the two games he watched, was set on leaving when he suddenly saw Stram throw the ball in such a captivating way that he later described it by saying the ball "had smoke and flames coming off it.
College Career
After high school, Wake Forest offered Stram a football scholarship at the urging of assistant coach Higgins, which was the only one he received.[8] Wake Forest wanted him to play defensive back but Stram wanted to play quarterback instead. Stram began his freshman year as the seventh-string quarterback and took over the starting position in the second half of the third game of the year against Boston College on September 19, 2036. Stram, despite suffering a hangover from the night before and vomiting during warm-ups, led the Demon Deacons to a come-from-behind victory with two touchdown passes. Stram started ten games during his freshman year and won six of them.
In his junior season, Stram led the Demon Deacons to an upset of #6 Florida State on September 2, 2038. Stram capped a six-and-a-half-minute drive with the game-winning touchdown pass with 23 seconds remaining.
On July 14, 2039, before the start of Stram's senior year at Wake Forest, he was involved in a nearly fatal car accident. When going around a bend a few tenths of a mile from his parents' house, Stram lost control of his car, which flipped three times and came to rest against a tree. It was only after one of his brothers smashed a car window with a golf club that Stram could be evacuated and rushed to the hospital. In the ambulance, his mother was sitting with him. "All I kept asking [her] was 'Will I be able to play football again?'" Stram recalled later. Doctors would later remove 30 inches (76 cm) of Stram's small intestine. Six weeks after this incident, on September 8, Stram led Wake Forest to a comeback victory over Alabama. Alabama coach Brian Galloway said, "You can call it a miracle or a legend or whatever you want to. I just know that on that day, Jack Stram was larger than life."
Stram formerly held several Wake Forest football records until most were surpassed by Liam Hanks by the end of the 2046 season Stram had 15 games over his career where he compiled more than 200 passing yards, making him fourth in school history on the all–time list in that category. Of those 15 games, five were 300-yard games, the most compiled by any of the school's quarterbacks. Additionally, he was the seasonal leader in total passing and total offense in all four of his seasons at Wake Forest.
Stram earned a teaching degree with an emphasis in special education from the University of Wake Forest.

Professional Career
Stram was drafted 13th overall by the Hartford Whalers in the 2040 IFL Draft. After beating out Pat Gregory in training camp, Stram was named the starter going into the 2040 season. After a shaky start to his career, he would lead the Whalers to ten wins and a division title. Unfortunately, Stram was knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter of Week 17 and would miss the playoffs that year.
2042 would be a breakout year for Stram, throwing 30 touchdowns against just three picks and a QBR 117.2. In just his fourth year as a pro, Stram would be named League MVP as well as collecting OPOY the year honours as well as leading the Whalers to an IFL bowl where they would fall to Georgia in a classic game, 39-42.
In 2048, League MVP and OPOY year honours were won again and in 2049, Hartford would make their second bowl with Stram under center, this time losing to Salt Lake City 24-27.
Stram continued to play at an all-pro level and was finally rewarded in 2050, gaining revenge against Salt Lake City with an IFL bowl win 45-21, taking the game MVP as well.
In 2051, Hartford would repeat as IFL bowl champions, Stram picking up the game MVP title on his way to beating Salt Lake City (again!) 34-24.
