  • Stallions Pound the Rock, Win 3 Straight to Move to 6-4

James Tart reminded fans that he still is a viable weapon in the Stallions arsenal this Sunday has he rushed for 132 yards (25/132, 1TD) and caught a TD (4/29 1 TD) to give the Stallions a 17-6 win over the vilified Oakland Assassins.

Booker played caretaker today throwing the pill only 22 times but completing 68% of his passes. In contrast, young gunner Gene Hamilton went 9 of 21 for only 125 yards as BJ Burke's secondary atoned for their early season let down in the opener.

"We acknowledge that Oakland is a worthy opponent," remarked Booker. "We just want them to realize that we are a pretty good team too. We feel like a lot of the Assassin players don't respect us and that was definitely a motivating factor in this game today---RESPECT."

The Stallions got right down to business too as they took their opening drive 96 yards to score. The drive featured 7 (of 12) plays to James Tart and his 'shhh' gesture after catching the TD to cap the drive let the defense know that he was feeling like his ole' self again.

The defense went on to turn in its most impressive effort since allowing 3 points to Hartford last year by holding the Assassins to just 6 points and just 231 yards.

The Stallions will need to stay focused on the task at hand as their slow start this season makes every game critical with respect to a playoff berth. Reno sports a better divisional record so SLC needs to take care of business over the next 6 weeks to return to the playoffs.

The Mules must be met with the same intensity they displayed against the Pirate, Mountaineers, and Assassins. Let’s hope they continue to play at a high level --JS

You will get our respect when you beat our "starting" defensive unit. Rolling up a whopping 17 points on our backups, and then talking smack is laughable.

I did exactly what I set out to do. Shut down Gomez. I could care less what Tart was going to do. So talk all the shit you want. We did what we could with half of the defensive on the bench.

Ok, now I'm not gonna get into a pissing match with ya, but here goes knowledge imparting.

This was Vitos Team Press post, no smack, no nothing. You come in and start up again, then you say that you didn't do anything to TRY and stop Tart.

Now don't bitch when people shoot smack at you.
