  • Grizzlies Looking Up!

(Hartford, CT) - Just five weeks ago, the Grizzlies upper management was in a state of panic. The team was reeling, the defense was getting shredded, the offense was not producing, and special teams had special needs. Now the team is flying high after 4 straight wins.

Donnell Mills credited the turnaround to two things, getting back to basics, and improved quarterback play. "Jerome looked like he was trying to do too much the first few games. Plus, we changed the package on him a bit. We did give him a larger load." After the Cleveland debacle, Coach Mills went back to what worked last year, a strong ball control offense. Since then, the offense has been good enough to win, and the defense has suffocating.

Even backup Jim Hickman has gotten into the act, leading the Grizzlies to a win 23-13 win over the AC West leading Portland Seals. Hickman completed over 70% of his passes leading to comparisions to his predecessor Jerome Mueller.

After the win, the Grizzlies are now just a game out of a wild card spot in the AC. However, they are still 3 games behind Norfolk.

If Hickman is like Mueller, better draft another QB next year.

I always like to have one stud starter (still trying to get one here!), and then one backup rated in the 50s.

Well yeah, who doesn't like that?

          Sissys.

I like to have a starter under 40 with backups in the 20's or teens.

Well let's face it, except for a few games, I have been making do with starters in their 20s with backups in their 20s....
