Grady Gomez looks to have picked up where he left off last season and has turned two 11 catch 150+ yard games in as many weeks. While the running game looks to be in an early season slump, Booker and Money look to be in late season form. Booker has started the season in with two 300+ passing games and no one has been able to take Gomez out of the game plan.
The former Fresno standout looks to finally be using every aspect of his game. Last season he earned all-pro honors with a 81 catch 1366 yard breakout season. This year he looks to be making a case to be considered as one of the elite receivers in the IFL.
Corners beware. Play bump-n-run and Money will get behind you and go downfield; line up in loose man and Grady uses his superb route running to beat you to the play. Come with a zone and watch him and Booker pick your secondary apart.
If fact, he’s been playing so well that double teams don’t even seem to faze him. “Money” is definitely my go-to guy”, offered Booker. “He always seems to be open so I just get him the ball and he makes plays---he just makes plays”.
“I just want to be an example for my team mates”, says Gomez. “While its nice to have earned the nickname ‘Money’, but I want people to understand why I got it. I want to be that guy that you watch on IFL Films making ‘the catch’ that you’ll remember until the day you die”, confessed Grady.
“Coach really opened my eyes in Training Camp. He and Steve (OC) really want to make Deuce (Booker), JT (Tart) and myself into something special and I want to make them continue to want that.”
