  • Assassins Issue Direct Challenge!

Oakland has issued a "direct challenge" to the Stallions.......RDE Derek Nelson spoke to the press, " man, fuck SLC, those bitchs just sit around and pray that Tart is able to have a good day.........well let me assure you, those times are over. We will own whatever gameplan they can produce........bring it on!
It would seem Oakland is more then confident that the Assassin "D" can handle whatever SLC chooses to throw at them, and then some.
The battle lines have been drawn....it will be interesting to see the response from Salt Lake...........More to come.

Oakland Issues Challenge, Stallions Offer Advice

Oakland Issues Challenge, Stallions Rest on 3-1 Series Lead

You've heard it. The Assassins have been touting how much more improved they are this season. They've attacked the Stallions in print, on radio, and now television. Still the Stallions have remained quiet.

Why would our beloved Horses not break this hush and respond to the upstart Assassins? Coach Palmateer offered this. "We think it takes more than a perfect preseason record where your starters outplayed other teams backups to prove yourself in this league. Come Sunday, they'll get to see what happens when the other team fights back."

Call it cool confidence, call it arrogance, call it divine favor on the plains of Salt Lake, but the Stallions have never not delivered when challenged. I think this Sunday is going to be a wake up call for Oakland and their rabid followers.

Instead of calling out the Stallions, they need to think about getting to a winning record this season (something the Stallions have done for the past two years). They should also address the coaching as the
team is loaded with talent but has been abysmal on the field.

It's going to take more than sheer talent to come into Salt Lake and leave a winner but they did manage to do just that last season when the Stallions were without Tart. 27-24 is hardly anything to rest your laurels on but hey the Assassins need something to get them up, right?

And from the looks of their preseason, their 'new' offense looks A LOT like that of Salt Lake City's [hmmm, wonder how THAT happened] so expect them to come out gunning and ole' BJ to introduce them to something their little spies haven't seen yet: the 52 Red Defense---designed to get maximum QB pressure and hurry young Hamilton into making his reads very fast---something he's not yet been able to so far this preseason.

Look for Tart to inflict maximum damage on the ground [as Oakland loves to blitz] and once Tart gets started, look for Booker to show Hamilton why he's not yet in his league with a NEW passing attack that WILL take advantage of the Oakland defensive front.

This won't be pretty folks and I'm thinking Oakland will quickly retire from the challenge business after this Sunday. --JS

Holy-fake football rivalry!!! I cannot wait for next week. I love this crap. I have seen quite a few guys throw the gauntlet and I can say I dont remember one of them actually winning. Good luck Oakland, but I would not want to play SLC. Last year they proved to be quite scarey on O.

I'm discounting 'ole Jave at all but calling my team out has got to answered. 3-1 series lead with a 3 point 'stolen' win last year is not yet a rivalry.

He's got a good team and they should make the playoffs this year just like my rNFL Ravens did (5-11, 3-11-2, now 11-4 and maybe 12-4 by tomorrow) so it can happen

I'm drunk and somehow knowingly adding fuel to the fire but IMO there is no such thing as a "stolen" win. I believe in the Bill Parcells motto of "you are what you are".
