HARTFORD, CT - With the draft of Stanley "Don't Call Me Jenna" Jamison and Billy Joe Boatwright it appears that last year's draft pick Ryan Royse will have to make some major strides this season to remain with the team.
Hartford GM John "Warhammer" Richert went into this season with two priorities improve the running game and make major additions to the receiving corps. It appears that he succeeded in at least one of these areas with the addition of Jamison. Thought to be a Top 10 pick, Jamison slid all the way to the 28th pick of the first round. Hartford had planned on taking Luther Wolf at that spot, but after a conference with the coaching and scouting staffs, they settled on Jamison.
The addition of Billy Joe Boatwrigt was more of an afterthought. After their first options at his spot were taken rumored to be TE Phil Norgard and OLB Eddie Stearns, the Grizzlies decided to give Royse some competition by selecting Boatwright. Boatwright does a little bit of everything for the Grizzlies, but he could make an immediate impact on the special teams side of the ball.
