Stallions Strengthen Defense

Lowell Napolitano and Stephen Berard are now starters for the Salt Lake City Stallions
The "Red Stampede" added former all-pro Stephen Berard with a 4-year $27 million deal to start at the LE position. Opposite him, the Stallions went with an undersized but bull-rushing 'tweener' in Lowell Napolitano.
Lowell gives the unit yet another furious hitter and someone talented enough to start on the RE. Moreover it gives opposing O-lines two more pass rushers to account for on a unit that already 'gets after' the QB.
"Its high-time we held up our end of the deal,” exclaimed Defensive Coordinator BJ Burke. “We like to rush the passer here but Coach Palmateer wants a strong run defense and we did not excel in that area this past year,” added Burke. “He’s committed to fixing that and Mr. Stallione is giving him what he needs to make that happen.”
Linebacker Morgan Hare, Amos Hassler, & Gerard Weidner all cheered when they got the news of the signings. “We know Coach wanted some toys on offense, but we’re really excited they got these guys in here.” remarked Hare. “I’m looking forward to offenses not being able to double team me and Amos when we come off the edges this season.” added Weidner.
Coming off a great run this year, the fans are excited about this team taking the next step. These signings along with the addition of Oakland lynch pin guard Drew Waters and backup center Tim Green, this team is definitely making steps in the right direction.--JS
