The new Burlington Bolts owners called a press conference Saturday to talk about the future of the franchise, and announce a namechange to "The Vermont Mountaineers". The new ownership group consisting of an international conglomerate of software producers, also took the opportunity to unveil a new logo and color-scheme for the team.
"We feel that our loyalty lies not only with the people of Burlington, but with the entire Green Mountain State, therefore we decided that our teamname and logo should reflect this."
The new logo, two white mountains separated only by a V, was designed by leading IFL-logo designer Sovstar Inc, specializing in pro-football logos.
"Vermont is beautiful state, and we wanted this to be reflected in our teamname."
