CHARLESTON, WV - Today authorities arrested Arnold Alvarado, the head scout of the IFL's Anchorage Snowcats, in connection to Sunday night's poisoning of several Hartford Grizzlies players. Mr. Alvarado was sent by Anchorage management to scout the teams prior to this weekend's Conference Final, and instructed to, "Make sure we win the game next week."
Mr. Alvarado was quoted as saying that, "I assumed that poisoning would be in line with what they wanted. I just missed my primary target!" That primary target is star rookie QB of the Grizzlies Jerome Mueller, one of the front runners for IFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. However, Mr. Alvarado poisoned the avacado dip at the team's buffet, and caused severe intestinal pain in several Grizzlies players including 3 defensive starters and 2 offensive starters. He took out almost the entire Grizzlies running attack as both starting RB Marcano and back up Briggs will sit out of the game this week.
Coach Mills was interviewed this afternoon, but he had no comment about the incident. His only remark about the upcoming game was, "I guess some of our players will have to step it up this week!"
