    Offseason Moves:

Head Coach Zach "Tricky Dick" Nixon accepts a new four year contract at 11 Million.

OC Kelly Pollack, famous for his Smashmouth offense, gets a new four year contract at a little over 4 Million bucks.

"Right now we need consistency in the coaching ranks. While the OC and HC are slightly at odds on Offensive Style, one Smashmouth and the other Air Coryell, both have a Primary Focus on Tight Ends. Offensively, I like where we are." GM Hoosier "Daddy" Owens.

    IFL Draft Day

FS Deshaies, a Washington State Cougar Alum, has been acquired by Calgary.

Calgary sends the second round pick in this year's draft to Columbia for FS Heath Deshaies.

"We needed leadership in the Secondary, and we needed to improve. We did both with this aquisition. And we have the cap space, so the trade was a no brainer." GM Hoosier.

While his Int Bars is a bit low for what I usually like, I do like his cover skills, Endurance, and Specials Bar. Will test the waters as a left corner.

Calgary and Columbia Draft Day Trade.
        Part 2.

Calgary has traded the third round pick in this year's draft for Columbia Fire's right guard Otis Sherman. "We had a rookie in our sites for the draft, but when we stumbled on a rookie cornerback that was projected to be drafted earlier, this trade made sense." GM Hoosier.

          Calgary Draft Day Trade
          Part 3

Stampeders send their 4th round draft pick to Las Vegas for running back Diego Delgado. "I like running backs, and he adds to our stables." GM Hoosier.

Update: Delgado lands as Mentor and Backfield Leader. Two younger running backs and one young fullback (who may not be on the roster much longer) all have varying degrees of Affinities with the new running back.

Solid bars in all four categories caught our eye. And the rookie benefits from two veteran guards on roster to serve as mentors. No brainer.

The kid is tied with another rookie as the fastest fullback in the draft. He also has the highest Sole score for rookie fullbacks, and is tied for first in Strength. Everything else is average, nothing poor that I can see. Well, his Route Running Bar is poor, but that's the only knock. Very low volatility could mean slow development, but I rolled the dice. I like the kid.

The Roll Out QB is only 3 percent developed, which means he's a rookie among rookies, but he's got some interesting bars. He reminds me of QB James Banks from my old Indy Invaders Dynasty Football League--RIP DFL--and that guy went on to be a dang fine quarterback. So, we'll see.

Entered draft as a defensive end, moved to defensive tackle without a hitch. So far. More of a finesse tackler, he has solid Endurance and Play Diagnosis bars.

Punishing Hitter with good Endurance Bars, he has strong Pass Rush Strength.

                          Preseason After Action Review

We won all the preseason games and did a pretty solid job. We cut three of the undrafted rookies, but managed to sign two more before the final preseason game. I like the direction of the team and the foundation we built. Concentrated on building depth on Specials and I'm happy with the results. Not every player will be an all pro, so we needed to find the guys that could contribute in other ways. Looking forward to the season.

Well, at the risk of jinxing the Stampeders, I'm mildly surprised we're sitting at 6-0 with two games left before our Bye Week. Now, we're not blowing teams out, our Opp Record PCT is at .471, so we've got to retain some humility and respect the rest of the season, but man, I didn't expect to be unbeaten at this point. Eleven starters stand with four years or less in the league, and that's a promising future we can build upon.

                            Pros: our young offensive line.

Cons: our linebackers just don't cut it for me.
