  • Hoosier's Audiophile Rumblings...

Okay, I received my Audio Fidelity Steve Hoffman Remastered Gold HDCD Deep Purple Box Set...

    http://www.audiofidelity.net/content...ity-collection

and I AM STOKED! Hoosier's Rockin' the House!

My impressions: cleanest dang sound I've heard from ANY Deep Purple releases, they've done an excellent job on the remasters. And the packaging is great.

    :thewave:

Now, I'm hoping that the next three albums, "Burn", "Stormbringer", and "Come Taste the Band" are soon released in a similar format. I do like David Coverdale with DP and Whitesnake.

And let's not forget Richie Blackmore's Rainbow. WHY ISN'T THAT ON HDCD GOLD?

(I just recently droppped facebook, and you guys are my proxies..). lol.

very cool. I've been wondering whether or not I should spring for remastered cds from some of my "favs" from the 80s; Rush, Pink Floyd, etc. On the plus side a lot of the remasters aren't expensive, on the minus side my setup isn't the greatest - not sure it would make much difference. I guess it depends alot on the particular remaster. I've even been thinking a bit about getting a turntable and buying vinyl again - but I don't want to be a pretentious hipster

My wife inherited her parent's Realistic Turntable stuff they've been using since the seventies, and I've been playing records ...they had a lot of junk records, but the Bill Cosby stuff is legit, clean, and still funny. I've been thinking about buying some of MFSL or Audio Fidelity's albums just to see how they sound.

And I usually play my stuff over the surround sound setup we have for the tele.... it sounds dang good to an old man. My trick was to invest heavily in a doggone great pair of headphones...
