    1. Olin Kreutz is the only O-lineman to start all 16 games this year. This hurt our O have any chance of being successful

    2. We have the makings of an outstanding D-line, we just need them to mature.

    3. Urlacher was out 9 games this year I think. We didn't win without him.

    4. Grossman only started 3 games before he was injured. If he is back to full strength, I think he will emerge as a Pro Bowl QB.

    5. Brett Farve retires, and the Packers find themselves on the bottom with the up and coming Lions and Bears fighting for the NFC North. The Vikings are just going to fall apart with the owner becoming cheap in an effort to sell the team. Tice will not bring the Vikings a title, ever.

Let's see here.. whine whine whine about injuries injuries injuries

Injuries are a part of the game. The Pack won't just all of the sudden fall apart when Brett retires and I have a good feeling that Tice won't be back with the Vikes unless they make it to the NFC Championship game (which is obviously doubtful). The picking up of Tice's option was only made to make the team look more attractive to a potential buyer. He can be bought out for only 800k. If there is new ownership coming, then they have the opotion of canning his ass or keeping the cheapest coach in the league.

        Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh mandingo!

Favre retires it hurts obviously. But if one of the two young guys turns out ok then the Packers should not be too bad off. Green, Franks, Lachey, Driver, Furgeson, and Walker are all around for a while. And those guys will help any new QB look better then other he would look anywhere else thats for sure.

And if they can improve the defense, which should be a focus the next couple years and Favre has nothing to do with, then that only makes them better.

injuries are a part fo the game, but is rare to see almost the entire O-line go down. That makes it all the worse.

And I don't think Tice will be fired even after they blow up on Sunday.

They should have kept Green and let him have his way with Moss.

Why would they keep him? It is extremely likely that Glen Taylor is going to be able to buy the team before the end of this month or in February. Taylor has never been afraid to spend money with the T-wolves and just about everyone in the state of Minnesota is going to be asking for Tice's head if they don't win on Sunday. That would give the Vikes a 3-8 record in their last 11 games and that would be their second second-half collapse in as many years. He has to win at least one playoff game. It's as easy as that.

atleast it keeps the team in Minneapolis though

Nice name for the thread. .

I thought the Taylor deal fell through? Too much money for the franchise?

Anyway, I can't see the Vikings getting a win at the frozen tundra.

And unless the team gets sold, I don't see Tice going anywhere. Personally I think he should of been shit canned aafter that awful draft debacle. And then couldn't even sign the player he drafted? Wow. (Did they ever actually sign what's his name?)

As for #7s retirement, I've seen a lot of Packer games over the years. I actually watch most of the NFC North games. Anyway, Farve was always the spark when they were behind, and the fuel to get them started. I don't think anyone can replace him. I also don't see the personel that are there stepping up to fill his shoes. The Packer receivers look good "because" of Farve. Think about Schroeder, and how bad he turned out in Detroit. Also add in the fact that he has never missed a start and I don't think you can find better, more durable QB who some times single handidly can bring a team from mediocre to champions if you searched throughout the NFL history.

Did a Bears fan just make a case for Farve being one of the best in history? Well, I have a lot of respect for that prick. Wish he would retired and just rode around on his lawn tractor 5 years ago. But he is good and I dont' think the Pack can make up for him while he's gone. Add in the fact that losing Farve will have a very bad morle effect on who ever is left, and I think you have the new perennial loser in the NFC North.

                          Did you say #7???

No deal has fell through at this point. In fact no offer has ever been made, but Taylor has been meeting with NFL officials and league owners and word is hot around the Twin Cities right now. McCombs just has to lower his asking price some and then a deal should be as good as done. Should the Vikings lose, some season ticket holders are going to flock and the value of the team is only going to go down. McCombs needs to realize that he doesn't have a chance in getting a stadium up here. People hate him. If there is going to be a sale AND the Vikings lose on Sunday, I wouldn't be shocked to see something done in only a few weeks.

Ok, I do not really argue any of the good shit you say about Favre obviously.

But, I do argue your comment about the WRs. These guys are better then Freeman, Brooks, and Shroeder were, a lot better. They are all still fairly young, especially Pro-Bowler Walker. Favre himself has said Walker is the best WR he has had since Sharpe. Driver will probably always be somewhat inconsistent, but he is pretty good on his 'upsides'.

Nall looked pretty good against the Bears on Sunday. Obviously far from a Favre but then again who knows exactly how good or bad he could be. I know I would take him over any of the Bears QBs (except Grossman as of right now).

I do not see the Packers falling to the bottom and staying there because Favre retires, that is just your dreaming Bears fan talking....

Well as far as the deal for the Vikings, I hope it goes thorugh. I don't think that the Vikings can consistently compete with McCombs holding the purse strings.

And I think that even if your right, and the Packers do have a good surrounding cast, the pshycological effect of Farve retiring will have a lasting effect in Green Bay.

But I don't see any team dominating the NFC over the next few years. Mooch in Detroit has the makings of a hell of a team if he can hold onto his job long enough to see them play to their full potential.

Smith needs at least another offseason, and has to find a way to keep players healthy in order to compete. And Minnesota has Culpepper, who freekin scares me even without Moss. There outta be a rule against linemen playing the QB position. The only question mark I have is GB. And if Farve retires, and Sherman follows, which he has hinted at, who is left to lead that team?
