Crap sucked, but no real damage, just a ton of cleaning up and playing with a chainsaw. I am back I think.

here in middle Tennessee we usually have really great weather for a week or so after a gulf hurricane. followed by a few days of gully washing rain.

More detailed report. 3 trees went down around my house, and all fell away. Two were within 12 feet of my house and could have done some damage if they came the wrong way. Back yard was flooded, none close to being oin the house though. Neighborhood had a bunch of trees down, a couple flooded houses, and we were without power for only 24 hours. All in all not too bad, glad it wasn't bigger....

Lots of flooding around the Valley here though. Destroyed the cotton crop so those guys are hurting. The colonias (super ultra-poor areas) got hit hard of course, they are located in flood areas usually. Basically lots of 'normal hurricane' stuff I guess.

Was kind of forced to this weekend. Instead of continuing the clean up I spent yesterday working and today now for a few hours as well. Most of that is sitting in this house over in Raymondville, a hard hit area. The house is up for auction and the company had open houses scheduled that they still wanted done. I am cutting today's short because it is kind of pointless. Although one woman stopped buy and looked, said her house was destroyed by the hurricane, roof ripped off and all that good stuff. "Gee, sorry." Not much to say to that one I guess.
