I've got it.. and Assassin's Creed... and I must say I really prefer Mass Effect. Sure, AC is very beautiful and smooth, but I'm disappointed in the actual gameplay. Mass Effect on the other hand has just a MASSIVE storyline, great RPG-element (even though I hesitate to call it a true RPG), and some nice action.Originally posted by hawkster View PostAnyone get Mass Effect? I'm considering snagging a 360 for it.
After being primarily a sports gamer on the console, last year was sort of interesting to me, as I really enjoyed both Gears of War and Mass Effect, not to mention Guitar Hero 2

Mass Effect is basically KOTOR with a different storyline, but that's not a bad thing. There are a few different elements, like not in the Star Wars environment, and real time combat, but bioware has some amazing writers and the storyline alone is enough to make it worth a run.Originally posted by hawkster View PostAnyone get Mass Effect? alot of console people on here it seems. so i pose a question..is a ps3 a good investment? it sounds like blu ray is going to be the clear cut winner, so that right there could make it a worthwhile purchase but it sounds as though 360 has the games though. any thoughts?Former GM Lansing Ogres

I love my PS3, and I'm really just waiting on more solid games to justify the purchase. Next Gen Madden is fun, and Resistance: Fall of Man was one of the best first-person shooters I've ever played. Beyond that there isn't a whole lot that's exclusive to make it a must have . Heavenly Sword was an amazing game if you liked God of War. The new Eye of Judgement game (the one with the card reader and collectible cards) is supposed to be pretty damn cool if you're into super nerdy stuff like that, but I have yet to see it. The PS3 will get bigger in the near future when the next Final Fantasy games and Metal Gear Solid game come out.
I do have some Blu-Ray movies which look damn good. Essentially it's worth waiting to buy for the time being in case of future price drops unless you want a Blu-Ray player now.
I buy all multi-platform games for the PS3, but in the end a system is only as good as it's exclusive games which is why the Nintendo DS is killing the PSP.
Also, the backwards compatibility is another perk. I love playing my old PS2 and PS1 games with sharper graphics via the HD output. That all depends how much old stuff you have though.
Your call, I don't regret my purchase, but I will say that it hasn't paid off yet, I just know it will soon when some future releases come out.

i have been happy with the 360. had one since the very start. i might need a new one now though because my 12 y/o is hogging mine. i think the game play and look are pretty much the same. just depends on whether a game is exclusive and i havent seen much that was exclusive either way.GM Wichita Outlaws
