  • My first game!!

So I wake up this morning and cruising around the raiderfans.net forums and see some posts about the Jacksonville game this week and it hits me. Why don't I go? I live about 6 hours away and I have never been to an NFL game before. I have had the misfortune of always living in non football states; Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Kansas, Mississippi and now Alabama.

Talked to Lisa and was like, fuck it, lets go!!! Checked around and got decent seats:

So we are heading out Saturday and Sunday will be my first ever game, but more importantly, my first ever Raider game!!

Anyone from around there that can tell me wheres a good place to stay? Is the area safe or the ghetto?

Anyway, I am psyched!! Even though we will probably get stomped I will still have fun.

Jacksonville - visiting fans find that place very accomodating. Although they might have rekindled their love for football with their win against the squeelers

            Good luck!

I also have never been to an NFL game. By choice in my case though as I prefer the comfort and viewing angles of TV to the atmosphere of a stadium/ballpark.

where in Alabama do you live? Go to some games in Tuscaloosa, SEC football is 10000x better than Raider football.

I've been to one NFL-game.. Falcons versus Cardinals on Christmas Eve 1994.. That was a really cool experience. But I must say that the atmosphere wasn't even close to watching a college game. There's so much more passion there. I've seen the Bulldogs twice and everyone's excited when they play. But just being there watching an NFL-game was mega-cool. Baseball was a big yawn, but football was intense.

Yea unfortunately I live in lower Alabama near the beaches, hundreds of miles from both the Tide and Tigers. To bad cause both those stadiums are rocking and rolling places to watch football.

Regency is a good choice. Make sure you don't get too loud as you will be in Duval County --- prepare to be hit

My Jaguars will own your Raiders in real life and my Stallions will return to stomping those Devils this season in the Imperial

Hey Vito. You live in the Jacksonville area? I would love to meet ya if you want to cruise to the hotel Saturday night or Sunday. We decided to stay Sunday night and leave Monday morning just cause the areas so nice.

As for you crap Stallions, good luck with that. Despite the rookie qb, don't be fooled. I am still going to have a strong team this year. Not playoff material, but good enough to beat your collection of has beens and wannabes

I actually USED to live in Jax but I make to about 2-3 games a season. I did the Texans, Chargers this year and opted NOT to go see the Raiders game (just not worth the money to see such a suck-ass team LOL).

Sleep on SLC if you want to, we're on the come up. I'm thinking I can at least go 8-8, 10-6 if I don't fuck up and gameplan my way out of the TWO wins I'll get against your team.
