  • Matrix sequels....

(yes this was spurred by the latest episode of "Scrubs" if anyone else is watching)

Was there ever another "series" that should've been stopped at 1 movie more? (Star Wars being stopped at 1 "trilogy" doesn't count)

And on the same lines is any movie starving for both a remake and a video game appearance more than "Clash of the Titans"?

I loved Episode 3. They should have spread that out into a trilogy.

Matrix sequels were depressing, because the original was so good. The Whole Ten Yards was terrible.

If episode 3 was stretched out to 2 movies and 1 and 2 were condensed into 1, with better actors and a darker all around script, it would have been awesome.
      I luv British womenz.

In all honesty I never took the time to watch part 3 because part 2 was at least quadruple any cinema disappointment that I ever witnessed. Maybe I'll watch it now but after part 2 I felt "If I cut my own eye out will you (the director/producer) erase this movie from existence?"

Similar note since this thread's not getting much play I give you my opinion on the worst movies ever according to hype/delivery:

            1) The Blair With project. This is without a doubt the worst movie of all time even regardless of hype. Trees don't frighten a human that's stepped outside of his/her house!

            2) The Village. regardless of the theft of an old twilight zone episode.

And the best movie of all time (low budget and yet top 10 all time which almost everyone doesn't realize):

            1) Star Wars, A New Hope.

Have you have ever watched the making of disc in the four disc DVD release of the SW trilogy? It's funny how low budget it was.

"No" would be the answer to your question. Are you saying it wasn't really log budget? From everything I've semi-payed attention to it's extremely low budget and easily the most successful movie of all time.

Connected: the guy who did the music for Star Wars (John WIlliams?) did the music for 8 of the top 10 movies of all time (grossing?) movies of all time at one point. I've no interest in his type of music but there's no denying the talent/luck there.

Blair Witch would have been great if there was no hype. As it was, people that saw it early hyped it up to levels it couldn't hope to meet.

Star Wars you need to take in the context of the times it was released. Many movies were falling into the trap of not having any good guys or bad guys, there wasn't anything that made your jaw drop with effects, etc. Also, it completely changed the movie industry. Saw what you will about Star Wars, but you could argue that it was the most important movie made in the last 50 years.

Ep. 3 was a great movie. My only issue with it were the scenes where Anakin turned to the dark side. Its not that they were bad, but if they could have stretched it out a bit more, it would have been more believeable. The problem was that they were strapped for time, and rushed it. I think I also read somewhere that Lucas was having problems with how exactly to pull off the actual turn and I think it shows. Everything before and after that rocked though.
