Incredible soccer goal

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe soccer players are trained to look a a certain part of the lower body and the little "plant step" he takes before shooting throws them off into thinking he's doing something other than shooting???Originally posted by MrBigglesworthThat looks cool, but is there a point to it? Does it help you get a certain angle?

Ha, that was the guy's first league goal too. And playing for Goteborg as a 19 year old isn't too bad. Is he supposed to be good?
I'm amazed though that a professional can be THAT much better with one foot where striking it like that (which looks and by all accounts is pretty difficult) is preferable to just hitting it normally with the other foot.Los Angeles Matadors AC West Champs: 2037

I'm figuring similar to how a breaking ball fucks with somebody looking for a fastball the "plant step" with his "shooting foot" gives the split second "broke ya" that the shooter needs. Also similar to a head fake in basketball.
If not then it seems strange that soccer players aren't ambidextrous and he couldn't have hit that with his right foot. Of course my soccer experience is limited to freshman high school and I was thinking "titties and ass" the whole time (not much has changed).

Yeah, as I look back at it (drunk) it seems like he could've just used his right foot.
Of course, they could always just use their hands so soccer's like that.

The way I saw it was that the goaltender was leaning towards him taking a shot to the right side of the goal and when he kicked it like he did the goaltender had to cover a ton of space. Sort of like a crossover in basketball.
I could be high though.I luv British womenz.

That can be done without the "behind the other leg" kick though (Romana did Kobeck call it?). Me thinks it's very similar to Jordan's "I'm about to score 2 this way but I'll pull it back and score this other way to show-off" in the ?? Finals vs. the Lakers back in the day.
I am high though.

Yeah, but if the goaltender is looking at him in a normal fashion, it appears as though he's gonna kick it with his left foot to the right side of the net, then suddenly he kicks it with his left foot to the left side. Of course he can fake it doing it normaly but not in near the quickness of motion as he does here.
It's like, say a guy is swinging a bat left handed and then right before he makes contact he morphs into a right handed hitter. The defense would be all absurdidized.I luv British womenz.

I've got too many chemicals in my atm. All I got out of that last post was left, right, left, right, absurdized.
Gonna go be a porch monkey (that's right I'm takin' it back! - lol) for a bit...
