Live draft is scheduled for Wednesday night. I havn't played in 2 seasons so I'm way way behind and have been doing a ton of reading. I literarly had no idea about 70% of the players I saw when I was doing research as besides not playing fantasy baseball, I havn't been watching much baseball either for the past 2 years so I got my work cut out for me.

I've got a default list of guys by position but have yet to rank them myself or do much research so i've got some studying to do over the next 3 days.

I didn't do to bad I don't think. I definately have alot of young guys but I'd rather have potential than a gaggle of Randy Winns.

I had the 6th pick overall. Pujols, Reyes, Howard, Soriano and Cabrera went 1 thru 5.
Atkins was my 2nd round pick. Pierre was 3rd and Fielder was 4th.

I drafted Nomar 8th and almost took Bonds in that go around.

Was week on Outfielders going into Round 9 and grabbed Kearns, Scott and Jones with 3 of my next 4 picks.

Really fucked up on closers though as I was waiting for the final run before I picked one and in the 10 picks between mine, the last 5 of them went. Then Howry got picked one spot before me when I was ready to grab him.

Wether I drafted well or not, I got the guy I wanted in all but 2 rounds, the aforementioned Howry round and then my only real mistake, I was down to like 5 seconds on the clock and picked Maddux over Chuck James in Round 14. James went with the next pick and I knew I had fucked up.

I think I got some real nice Pitching late in the draft. Jason Jennings in round 13 and Jeff Francis in round 15 are 2 guys I really like.

It looks like Montero may get the bulk of the Diamondbacks catching duties so I'm pleased with him at 20.

If Baker, Kouzmanoff or Hairston pan out (And I think theres a very good chance at least 1 of these guys could have a very nice power year) I may try and deal for some more speed.

One glaring problem is saves. But I wasn't going to overpay for a 1 category guy when I had better all around options on the board.

I didn't draft my 9th pitcher or 2nd catcher as I'd have rather had Kouz, Hairston and Helms whom i got with late round picks than a crap ass Catcher or Reliever that I would of gotten had I gone that route.

I figure I can pickup a P or C off the waiver wire before the season starts just as easily.

So there it is. I'm not sure it's a top team, but I got who I wanted, so If I fail I fail because I was wrong in who I wanted not in how I drafted, if that makes sense.

5th place and none of my hitters are hitting yet. Generaly I think a good 4-6 weeks needs to be played to figure out where I'm at.

As an aside, the Phillies are going to be horrible this year. They have no bullpen at all and their lineup has the same problems they had when I last watched baseball reguarly back in 05, which is to say that they are very much a station to station team once Rollins and Utley are done.

Burell, Rowand and Victorino are an abysmal offensive outfield who all lack the ability to do any one thing excellently. Seriously, the offense from 5-9 is creeky as all hell.

And the bullpen, oh the fuckin bullpen. The starters arn't gonna be anything special either. I have no idea how this team was getting so much pre season pub but the Marlins and Mets are heads and tails above them in the East.

Last nights Clay Hensley and Jeff Francis combined for about 10IP and 30ER, thus killing my season pretty much.

How would joining a league at this point work?

Youd pay $30 and then join a league. Depending on the draft type (auto or manual) you would then start playing ball.
