Pee Wee's Mothafuckin Playhouse

Peaked in the TV guide and noticed that Pee Wee's Playhouse was slotted to be on tonight. I loved this show when I was a kid. Conky, the word of the day, Penny - it all rocked the house. Phil Hartman even made a cameo in this episode from 1986.

Oh, I'll probably start swelling up towards the end, when he says farewell and heads off on his bike. Something about that song that makes me contemplate how life can suck sometimes. Why must you leave, Pee Wee? I can only imagine how many times I asked that as a kid.*

nah, no ooping on my part. i used to get sad as the end credits rolled and he was on his bike and the fake background whirred by. i always wanted to visit the areas that he drove by. the Pink Diner (how do i remember that???) was my favorite part of the end credits.

so, i won't bust on a nigga. pee wee was my shit back then.

Pee Wee's Playhouse is on M-R on the cartoon network at 11:00, then again at 2:30.

Damn.. I see he has been doing the talk show circuit to promote shit and I've missed them all. I would've liked to have seen him on Conan.

Turns out he was really good friends with Hartman, who helped him do some of the writing for PW's Playhouse. Also read that he was rejected by SNL in the early 80's (so was Jim Carey).
