  • He's Mike James, bitch?

If you've got some time to kill you should give this interview a listen.

The Timberwolves just signed Mike James yesterday and an hour before making it official he did a segment on a talk radio show in the cities. He is just full of personality.

I'm pretty stoked about the signing personally as he's just what the doctor ordered - a playmaker who isn't afraid to shoot. Almost like Stephon Marbury but without the high contract. He's a little old, but he hasn't played that many minutes in his career. I don't know, sometimes it's so refreshing to have a guy like who is totally confident in himself.

Because he didn't want to back up T.J. Ford? And from everything I've read, the Toronto fans haven't been very appreciative of the guy. Plus, it's the Raptors.

Also, the contract he signed isn't exactly humongous. He got the mid-level exception for 4 years (around 5 mill a year).

Fans of TO are all over Mr. James. We welcomed him with open arms. TO gave him an opportunity to start and log big minutes. Then he bolts. He'll be boooooed like no tomorrow when he comes back. Us Canadian fans tend to hold big grudges when players screw us.

And James wouldn't have been backing up anyone here. He was penciled in at either the 1 or 2.

The one issue with James is he has a very quick trigger finger. Not sure how much KG will like that. CB4 was much more mellow about that.

He got the chance in Toronto because the team sucked and didn't have a playmaker. He was told that they wanted him to come off the bench. You don't believe that? They just traded for T.J. Ford. There's no way that you put 6 foot Ford and and a 6-2 combo guard in the backcourt.

The Knicks are a mess. They have decent talent though. The right coach in there could actually do something with that team. Unfortunately, Zeke isn't the right coach

They did a lot last year. They had that white rookie PG from overseas playing the 1, and James in at the 2 guard. James plays a lot bigger that his size.
James was a playmaker on a team that had only 2. I didn't see anywhere that they told him that. Not that I've been paying a lot of attention to it.

Hopefully the Raps are doing the right thing. He was the 2nd best player on the team, and won them a few games last year

not disagreeing with you, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. He was, like you said, a playmaker on a team of mediocre roleplayers. You have to be pretty good to average 20pts in the league
