If he is happy about Aaron Brooks, God help him! The guy has talent, he is just a cancer in the locker room. I give him and Randy two seasons, max. Good luck.

Well............I am mixed on this one. On one hand, what were the options. A. my favorite option, start Walter now, get him some experience. I feel, given the chance, he could turn out to be a hell of a starting QB. But in the history of the Raiders franchise, I know this will never happen. Davis does not start rookies. He doesn't like young players, and it seems they must sit on the bench for a minimum of 5 years before he either trades them, or they retire in fusturation.
              B. Draft Leinart or Young. Sigh............see A.
              C. Culpepper. How many tendons did he tear in his leg? 4? Pass...........
              D. Brees, Another career threating injury, same as Pepper, pass...........
              E. Harrington. Heres an interesting choice. I grew up in Portand, Or, so I watched pretty much all of Harringtons career. I think the guy is a fighter and a winner who was just on a bad team comprised of an offense full of rookies. Like all other QB's, he takes the blame for the losses. With a chance of scenery, I think Harrington could be a hell of a QB.
              F. Collins. Resign Collins..........shutters........I would put a gun in my mouth before I ever watched another game with this fucking loser on the field.

So there ya have it. That leads us to Brooks. Being that I lived in Gulfport, Ms for so long I have been forced to endure the crappy Saints year in, year out, week in, week out. No matter how bad they were, thats what we get to watch in the south. I put Brooks in a bit with Harrington. A change of scenery and a different game plan could do wonders for the guy. I feel out of all of the choices, barring being able to jump to 2 and snag Leinart, he was the best option. So I am not all that bummed. YET.

Harrington is nothing more then a career backup. He does not have NFL starting talent. No vision, not accurate, not a leader and i could go on and on. He is not able to throw into tight coverage and will only throw the ball if the guy is wide open. If he isn't wide open, he checks down constantly.

Your way better off with Brooks. I think him and Randy will work well together. Brooks has a very strong arm and a nice touch on the deep ball. I see them hooking quite a bit next season. The Raiders got better IMO.

You nailed my thoughts on Harrington exactly.

I watched him in the season finale of 2004 in Nashville. Harrington had Lions running wide open downfield all day long and he constantly checked down to backs and TE under the LBs. A scrub MLB Kassell had 20+ tackles that day. Harrington was the only QB in the last 6 or 7 games that did not hang 30+ on the awfule Titans.

Well, my two cents, as a past Saints season ticket holder.

Brooks is a one dimensional talent. He can throw the ball and when his mind is in sync with his body, he is unstoppable. But this occurs about twice a season.

This is what shows up for almost very game.

                    1. At least one fumble turnover, complements of Brooks (& with him not being physically touched by the defense). This can occur from losing the snap (yes, regularly and he is a starting NFL QB) or from when the ball just lefaves his hand for some unknown reason. The ones that went backwards as he was trying to throw were his best. I have witnessed as many as three such acrobatic miscues in a single game and each could be a clip on the NFL's Funniest Videos. Count on at least one in a game.

                    2. Absolutely, no presence of mind. Critical drives at the end of halves would be routinely hampered because Brooks had used all or only had one time out left during the half. Why? Time ruuning out to get the snad of for some other dumbshit reason. At the end, he was getting booed for calling a timeout.

                    3. Attitude -- does Aaron want to play today ... no one never knew. Great lto have in the locker room!!!!

To sum up, many of the Saints losses were directly a result of poor clock management, a Brooks free-be turnover, or the lack of awareness of game situations.

I also blame the coaching staff for allowing much of this to continue uncorrected. I would have laid down the law and would have benched his ass if he called an unnecessary timeout during the first five minutes of the game. Perhaps a new coaching staff will bring him around but I believe he is a limited quantity and a joke as a NFL QB.

I am delighted with the new Saints coaching changes and the acquisition of Brees, even if he is a question mark. At least there is promise that our QB would not be finding ways to give the game away.

So the Raiders passed on Leinart. They're smarter than I thought.

SO year after year after year, we can continue to get high draft picks. I am fucking disgusted! TO have a shot at a franchise qb and say, no thanks, it just a travisty.
