The problem I have with FOFC is that it is extremely clickish. Two people can say the same thing, if the "in" person says it, everyone thinks its great. If someone like me said it, people look at you cross-eyed.

That kind of attitude comes directly from the former modding situation (i don't know how things have changed with the new mod-by-committee approach, which is a good idea on paper). SkyDog and his followers admit and actually boast about how the rules are different for different people.

Yeah, SkyDog is a bit of an ass, I loved the whole Fido episode. Heaven forbid you say anything about that guy, you'd get banned.

Don't get me started on that whole thing again.

Oh wow, that was just before I came into the league so I didn't even realize the full FIDO story.

I have heard from about 50 people now that SkyDog is disingenuous. In the thread I got suspended in he called everyone that disagrees with his decisions "whiny schoolgirls" and said he takes and considers public disputes 'grandstanding' and to take any issues with him privately. I have sent him several emails and have never gotten a response, and several others have said the same thing. Douchebag.

Ah, I was trying not to get started on this again! I just wish someone that cares about criticism was in charge.

I don't think Ben is the kind of guy who will lie right to your face knowing that he's doing it. But he also is very stubborn and bullheaded. Once he brands you as something, you're that to him forever pretty much.

I talked to him about 4 months my bannination about getting my posting privelages back, he said it would have to be 6 months gone and i'd have to use a new screename and not refer at all to who I was.

About a month ago i asked him what the line was, because of course as soon as theres a thread that contains only 5 posts between me and Sov, people are gonna know who I am. I just wanted to be clear on the issue. He was like "why do you even wanna come back?" So I just gave up.

It can be a fuckin fun place sometimes, but too much political shit (the arguing, not the threads and discussions per se) and mudslinging really put a damper on things.

I've thought about starting an alternative board but I cant really see any reason why an alternate board alone would work in any sort of way unless there was something special about it, otherwise it just comes off looking hackneed (HA, FN).
