  • Nice poll results.

packers.com always has polls, who was game MVP and that sort of stuff. The one up there now is this.....

How damaging is the loss to Minnesota?

Not very. The NFC North is wide - open and the Packers will regroup and bounce back. 12%

Somewhat. At 1 - 5, it'll be tough to make the playoffs. 47%

Very. It puts them out of playoff contention. 40%

    Votes: 34,838

I have to say that I feel these polls usually end up with fairly good results that seem realistic and not homeresque, despite that it is going to be almost all Packer fans. This one though is funny as hell. I guess I have accepted reality faster then most Packer fans, because that 12% must be high. Even the 47% for somewhat is a joke to me. Sur the division sucks, but unless a miracle happens this thing is way past over to me, top 10 pick here we come.

And thank God, the Packers did not actually sign WR Freddie Mitchell like I had heard earlier this week. Instead they went with two other WRs who I love already because they are not FredEx.

One has possibly the best name on the Packers now, too. Taco Wallace. Taco!!! That's a great name, it's not Cheese, but it's good.

    I like this....

They hoped Mitchell would be impressive during a workout on Tuesday, but they felt Wallace could provide a more immediate impact. Mitchell was coming off a knee injury and had arthroscopic surgery five weeks ago.

“Everyone has their own personnel decisions to make,” said Matt Couloute, Mitchell’s agent. “I’m not really sure why they didn’t sign him. He’s healthy. He’s back to 100 percent, but I’m not sure what happened.”
    Because he SUCKS?

    Go Taco!!!

1-5 start can be turned around, but lets face it teams are 1-5 for a reason and most of them are not very good.

Titans started 2003 1-4 then won 10 of 11, but they actually were a good team that had a horrendus start. Notice Titans did not recover from their bad starts in 2001, 2004 nor will they recover in 2005.

Oh yeah, Packers started 1-4 last year, which may be why some people still are holding onto the hope of a turn around. But when you are losing players left and right I can't see how you can bounce back.

Bears got the NFC North on lockdown! The division is no longer up for grabs... it's just going to take some longer than others to recognize it.

What the hell are you talking about? Can't you count? 5 wins is very doable out of that schedule. And 8-8 can win the division.

Yeah I can count, and I counted 3 wins for the 3 a said I think they will win. I will guess you think the other 2 games are the final two, AT GB and AT Min. Sure they are games they could win, but I don't think they will. Road games, the fact Chicago is not all that good and won't always win the games you as a fan think they should, the Vikings may be playing better ball at the end of the year, what could be one of Favre's last two game ever in GB, the fact the Bears are sitting at 0-2 on the road right now. Not a lot there that makes me think you can write those up as wins already....

The Chicago passing game sucks. I agree. I have been bitching about the Offense for years. But, The D is one of the best in the NFL.

Grossman will be back for the final two to three games. If orten doesn't play well, Grossman will come in and hopefully, live up to expectations. You also have to remember the year Jones is having.

It is way to early to predict outcomes for games 6-7 weeks away, but Chicago ain't in too bad shape at this point. We got a good chance of taking that title this year. It may be ugly, but at this point, who in Chicago cares if the title is ugly. It's a freekin title!

Well, if it's going to be that ugly I just hope it's a 3-4 tie with all tie breakers exausted and they have to flip coins.

The Lions will beat the Bears today and take command of the division. Yep, the Lions are going to top. Were playoff bound this season.

Harrington is finally out of there after 3 1/2 years of shitty play. Garcia the old man is gonna light a fire under this team. Were gonna finish 9-7 and fight off a Minnesota comeback.

The Bears defense will only carry them so far. Teams are gonna start putting 8 or 9 guys in the box and make Orton beat them instead of Jones. I don't see Orton leading this team anywhere close to a division title. Bears will finish 6-10 or 7-9 at best.

Is that a Lions fan? Didn't think they existed anymore. . and how the hell did you get into this league? Cringer, your screening process isn't working. . .

I agree that Orton isn't going to beat anyone, except the Vikings, deep. But Grossman can. . . At least that is what Angelo has been telling me the last three years.

BTW, who is Garcia going to throw to? Harrington got all the WRs killed.

Oh no, one of the reasons BOSS was invited here was BECAUSE he is a Lions fan. It completed the league with NFC North fans.

And good news for the Packers today, Mike Flanagan looks like he might start at Center. We actually get a guy back from injury, that is a pretty odd change.

And today is the day to play the Bengals. Messed up year for the Bengals to get good. Maybe Taco will be a hero.

Bears defense has been playing horrible and is still 3rd in the league and enough for 1st place in the division. Once they get their act together the Bears easily take the division down the stretch... if they don't start pulling away today.

Teams already are putting 8 in the box and have been since at least last season. The Bears passing attack didn't JUST get this horrible. :P

You're right that Orton won't lead this team to the playoffs but he will control himself enough to go along for the ride.

Prediction: Bears 20 - Lions 13 (And if you're gonna take a jab at me when my prediction's wrong as 99.99% of them are then at least make one yourself beforehand ).
