I really feel that this is the Vikings' year. Brad Johnson's neck shouldn't be bothering him any longer and we've finally got a reliable kicker. Goodbye Eddie Murray - hello Gary Anderson!! Robert Smith is on his way to a long and fruitful HOF career. 1998 is definitely the Vikes year. Yeah boyzz!!

You're lucky that you have hope. The Eagles just hired this Packers assistant I've never even heard of, and they say that he is going to pass up Ricky Williams to take a stupid quarterback! What an hole!

I think Scott Mitchell is gonna have a great year for the Lions. We have a lot of weapons here on offense. Wayne Fontes and OC Tom Moore plan on using a 3 wide base set this year. We have some good WR's in Herman Moore, Brett Perriman and Johnie Morton. With the best RB in the league in Barry Sanders were just loaded.

We may have a shot at the Super Bowl hopefully this year. Wayne Fontes has built a powerhouse here in Detroit. Who says cocaine affects your job performance?? We could possibly have a Lions parade down Woodward Ave. for the first time since 57'. GO LIONS!

Just you wait till the Titans split out Yancy Thigpen and Perkins, D's will be unable to stop those WR's

And yeah I get the jist of the thread, but gosh those were to sad signings, although Thigpen was good when he played, too bad he only played about 40% of the time.

I think Thigpen had maybe 1-2 good years in Pitt and then was injured the rest. Remember Carl Pickens. That dude was the man and then just flat disappeared.

Yeah Pickens was his name. I am not sure if he even played a down for the Titans.

Too bad for the Titan Salary Cap they both came to Tennessee to pull their Houdini acts.

FWIW Thigpen pulled himself out of the Superbowl. He was cleared by the Titan Medical staff, yet he said he could not play IN THE SUPERBOWL.

              astounding.

Doesn't Mary Glenn of the Cowboys get that from time to time?

"Nancy" Thigpen wasn't injured, but he was not at 100% either. He could go 100% straight, but he could not cut at 100% so he decided not to play saying that someone else could help the team more. Who Issac Byrd???

I have never forgiven him for that. Neither have I forgiven him for NEVER playing against the Steelers while he was on the Titans. Every time the Steeler game came along Nancy discovered something to keep him out of the game.

WHEN Thigpen played he was a difference maker though. And that is what is so frustrating about the guy.

1998 is when the Panthers will return to the NFC Championship game! Tim Biakabutuka is going to stay healthy this year and Kerry Collins is going to lead the Panthers to an 11-5 record. I'm loving this young receiver named Rae Carruth, he looks like he could be a star someday and he was 2nd in team receptions last season. With Rocket Ismail in the slot, we're really going to open things up!

Yes and how do you get an 11-6 record? Quite funny though.

                              Good point, and fixed

Kerry Collins pissed me off so much that season. I had his jersey, loved watching him play, and then he goes and boozes up and quits on the team....

I think Fred Lane got shot after that season too.
