I just installed a new hard drive:

    http://www.maxtor.com/portal/site/ma...tview=Overview

However......and this is a common problem it would appear, it only shows 137gigs, even though it should show near 300.

    This was their solution:
    http://maxtor.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/m...i=&p_topview=1

But, it didn't work. The big drive enabler it would appear, didnt do jack shit. Now..........in my system information, it does show under drives, has having 127 gigs. Under disks, it shows a 279 gig drive, with a partion of 127 gigs. I expected this, however, I paid attention when I formated it and the only option was the 127 gigs, not 279 or 300.

    Any ideas?

      A. update your computer bios
      b. xp? you need xp service pack 1 or higher
      c. assuming it is brand new hard drive with no critical stuff--
      control panel-admin tools-cpu management-storage--disk management--format.

Yea, I did that, but was unhappy with the seperate drive, so I "shared" Partition Magic, and merged the two partitions into one. I now finally have the full 300(279) gigs.....YEA!
