Hey Cringer do truckers appreciate it when motorists flash their light to indicate that the truck is clear?

I'm asking cause I learned the habbit from my daddy and my wife says that it just annoys people. Occasionally the truckers will somehow "flash" their taillights in response, more often they seem to just ignore it.

I'm asking cause I learned the habbit from my daddy and my wife says that it just annoys people. Occasionally the truckers will somehow "flash" their taillights in response, more often they seem to just ignore it.

The hurricane is going to have a decent sized impact here from what I see. We are in a 'very likely to lose power' zone i guess. Not sure if we will get real bad winds, but we will definetly be on the north side of the eye meaning we will geta ton of rain. Flooding likely, sand bags in front of my front door since saturday.

As for the light flashing, it is something most trucks will do for each other, mainly at night. Not as many guys do it as they used to but it is the norm to do it I guess you could say. I always do it for other guys, and the cutting of the marker/tail lights is a show of appreciation. Trucks have a interupt switch that will cut the marker lights but not the head lights. When cars do it, I usually will cut my lights as thanks. Many guys won't simply because you are a four wheeler (aka the enemy). Other ways are turning on the four ways for a second, or showing the other turn signal flash once.
