  • Horrible Rumor

I was unable to find "documented" proof of this rumor, however, a good friend of mine who is a lifelong Oakland fan tells me that Saben will attempt a sign/trade with the Raiders for Ricky Williams once he arrives in camp.
This is NOT GOOD for Oakland. We finally have a team that could possibly do some damage in the playoffs, and here comes, what could be argued has the most hated player in the NFL by fellow teammates.
I suppose if he runs for some insane numbers, that could change, however, for now, I am against any trade for this loser.

If you look, you will find quotes from Ricky right after his retirement that he might come back if he was traded to Oakland. This isn't a new rumor.

Of sourse he will want big moeny to sit out the first 4 games on suspension, etc etc

In another sign he intends to return to the NFL, running back Ricky Williams, who retired last summer after failing a third drug test, has requested to be reinstated in the league's drug-testing program. The program would be a requirement of Williams' reinstatement and includes being subject to as many as 10 tests a month.

If the Eagles attempt to trade holdout wide receiver Terrell Owens, you can bet Oakland owner Al Davis would be interested.

Looks like you may not just get one bad attitude, but two. And you already have Moss. May have to change your nickname form Raiders to Cry Babies.

Man the Greyderz were 5-11 last year, like my Titans, and look to be bad again this year. Don't believe everything you read in those preseason publications. Even without Williams the Greyderz will stink. They would just stink that much more with him that's all.

          damage in the playoffs, sheeeeze

WOW bro, I am the most cynical Raider fan on the planet. I have actually spend hours browsing web sites to cut/paste all of the great players we have NOT drafted. I was the first person last year to say........Collins fucking sucks............and that was before he took a single snap.
However, by acquiring Moss, and resigning Porter, signing the best RB in FA, and has of yet, NOT trading Woodson, we have a serious team on our hands.
With Moss on one side, Porter on the other, with one of the fastest raw recievers backing them up(Doug Gabriel), we play right into what Collins does worst...........throwing the ball up for grabs. Thats what Moss loves! Add to that a very solid D with Sapp and Ted Washington actually having a reason to play with some motivation, and Woodson trying to play his way into a fat contract with someone else, this team is looking to be very good.
Last year was a fluke with Gannon, who was the team leader without a dought, going down, this will be a wayyyyyyyyyyy different story this year. Guaranteed!

After watching Saben in Baton Rouge for four years and knowing how he runs a very tight ship, there is NO WAY, in my opinion, he lets Ricky come back and stay with the fish. If Ricky does come back, noticed I said if, Saben has a trade ready to move him somewhere and the Raiders would not surprise me at all. Al Davis, Ricky Williams, that sounds about right to me.

Well every real NFL fan has reason to be optomistic at this point so I am not meaning to ride you too hard JAVE, but the leap from 5-11 to damage in the playoffs is huge

Not to damper your excitement but your D line is old and your linebacking corp got horribly thin with the loss of Napoleon and your secondary got worse without Phillip. Woodson is a very overrated corner. However, on the offensive side of the ball I think the Raiders can put up some serious points, possibley. The pieces are there. I would say that Lamont Jordan has twice the value as Ricky Williams at this point and he has yet to be full time starter. Last year when Jordan played he looked ferocious. The guy weighs 235!! Screw Ricky!! You dont need him. But you need D badly. At least the Raiders can score a lot.
