Reasons are not necessary. Since you requested at an inopportune time, I looked at your reason to see if the situation was so bad that it justified changing the schedule for the rest of the league. It did not.
You didn't "need" to sign 2 WRs and release 1. You "wanted" to. Even saying that, you should have been fine if you did it right. Unless your offers weren't accepted, you shouldn't have "lost" anyone. And if we had a midweek, they still would've been rejected if that's the case. I'm sorry you feel "screwed", but if you dropped a WR and signed 2 the only thing this would've "screwed" you out of is setting your WR depth chart for 1 preseason game. Hardly a big deal.
I'm not sure what was frustrating about the PM route. Had you said, "I'm picking up WR1 and WR2. Please put them in my depth chart at WR1 and WR2. Or REX my depth charts. Or whatever." I would have done what you asked.
Your historical analysis is flawed too. You missed the incident that Dawg pointed out. It also doesn't take into account when the midweeks were requested. If someone needed a 3rd QB or their backfield was a mess, it was because of injuries meaning games were already being played.
I think that as you play more MP, you'll see this could have been done differently. And that this is very insignificant in the grand scheme. A FA WR before PS was probably not Jerry Rice. And whether it's true or not, feeling screwed over a free simulation league on the Internet isn't really worth it. It'll all be ok.
