I just saw this. With no off-days in preseason, midweeks aren't really convenient. Assuming you put in a offer on the DT, I will see if I can add him to your line-up.

I just read read through this entire thread and my request was the only one denied despite fitting the purpose stated below. Moreover giving a valid reason is hardly required since it is not always necessary.

It's just where I import the exports but I don't sim a game. It allows people to make transactions before the game. It is used mostly when you have an injury at a limited position to avoid getting that part of your lineup AI'ed. It's overused in FOF leagues imo, but I do them when requested because I'm a nice guy and the greatest commissioner ever.

You are ignoring some key facts. Midweeks are not normally run during the off season and PS games because of the accelerated pace. TC ran 3/7 and PS1 and 2 the next day on 3/8. There was no time for a midweek. Plus, as Hooper mentioned, there were plenty of sims in the off season to get the players you wanted. Further, Hooper did offer to make depth chart adjustments after you signed player(s) before running the games. All you needed to do was PM instructions.

Hooper can chime in with his thoughts as he doesn't need me to defend him. But he is a great commish (other than on St. Patrick's Day ).

I have commish-ed prior leagues and played FOF MP for 6 calendar years. IMO, your midweek request did not fall into the area of "reasonableness".

Well, let's break it down.

There were;
43 request without reason given.
ALL 43 were sim'ed.

There were;
16 request made with a reason given.

Can we get a midweek? I have a possible big trade going down and would rather not do it on a game cycle.

Me and FootballAUS made a trade yesterday and I saw two other teams that also made a trade. In the trade FootballAUS asked if it all can be finalized before tomorrows game. I see it hasn't happened yet, so if you can check into it it be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ira

The RED represents injuries | Blue represents trades | Green internal movements of players/signings etc/ technical game issue. | Orange No clue
The Green represents reasons consistent with my own.

The fact is my request was reasonable and within precedent. Moreover, the statement was that midweeks are generally unnecessary, but if anyone needed one, then one would be run. No where in the statement did it inidcate that you have the "beg" or claim to have a "valid" reason. My request was not at all unreasonable and it ended up costing me.

I think you're missing the point. As a matter of fact, I know you are. There are no off days between sims during the preseason. When exactly was the midweek sim suppose to run?

I needed to sign two receivers and release one. This brought me to just three. I needed the sim to close the deal and then set my depth chart. As far as It is not possible to set the depth chart to playing being sign to the squad. I tried the PM route and that proved equally frustrating. at point I dropped TE I wanted sign one of the two receivers. After the sim, I lost the second receiver. There wasn't an alternative either, so I lost TE I wanted and I am stuck with a receiver I didn't want. Looking through the thread I certainly was not asking for too much. So unless you know a way I could had done what I wanted to do, then I do not think I missed the point.

In in any event, it is a slippery slope to make these sorts of decisions. Either you do sims between each and every game or you grant them whenever they are requested. Unfortunately I thought the latter was what was stated as the purpose of the threat. Is this missing the point? No, it is the point.

Thanks for your thorough analysis of midweek request history. It appears these were all midweek requests during the season. But I do believe you may have missed one, however. This midweek was not run for the same reason that your request was denied - it was during the pre-season with no off days.
