bah, sucks to see you go Cy. Life changes a lot tho, doesn't it? we've been doing this for almost 10 years now.

we've only had 2 pittsburgh/PEN owners since we started.

As BOSS said, hope you get the itch back with the new game.

                Jim made a blog update...

                http://www.solecismic.com/frontierblog/?p=607

Looks like he is pushing for a release around Christmas.

My two cents: I would favor pushing ahead with the 2026 season without waiting for the new version. I would think that is possible, perhaps probable that the initial release will get pushed back weeks or more - seems like that usually happens with software releases.
I just hate to have a long layoff. And by the time we start the 2027 season we would be pretty sure that any show-stopping bugs in the initial release would be fixed.
Maybe we'll have more info. by the time the Imperial Bowl comes around.

I'm still in. Also excited about the new version. I do suggest, as markc suggested, that we just keep going. If the next version of the game happens to be released mid-season, it'll just give us time to monitor the leagues who make the change at release and stay away from potential release-bugs.

Sounds like a good idea and gets my vote too.

I'm in favor of slowly moving to the new game due to potential GM loss from those who might simply be silent right now but unwilling to pay for a new game on release day. If the game "proves" itself through community acceptance the same GM that might be unwilling to buy it on day 1 might buy it on day 30 and keep the IFL landscape further intact.

with the energy of a new game, it will bring new and bring back old players.

We will trek on for another season with the current game and hope that it is our last.

Do we have anyone currently heading up trying to keep the league full via networking on the FOF sites? New game or not the buzz should help us refill for 2026, possibly with some of the FOF retreads coming around for the expected release of the new game.

I would think that there will be a bunch of new leagues starting up to coincide with the new game. I'll be tempted, It would be fun to get in on the ground floor with a new league and do an allocation draft, but I probably shouldn't add another time sink.
