Man. We are last in the league in turnovers(14). We are last in the league in points allowed(35.7 ppg). We are 3rd to last in the league in scoring(12.0 ppg). All this spells 0-3 and not even competitive in any of our losses. Crazy me thought we would actually be somewhat competitive this season and go 8-8, but as I am watching things unfold, I think we might go 0-16, despite all the young talent we have, especially on defense.

Carolina didn't play up to their ratings this week. Phantoms nab an easy victory in a game I feared might be a loss. Carolina might get another shot in December!

Little Rock grabs a victory over Dakota to hurt my draft slotting. Dakota's up next on our schedule, scratching fiercely for their first victory of 2025...

GG Beez. I still think the NC goes through GEO this year.
I don't. We've just been turning the ball over too much this year, and for whatever reason Troutman is playing like crap. The OC went way outside of my gameplan for this one, as we were passing the ball way too much from the outset. Losing Darren Wallace early didn't help matters.

The turnovers and the fact that we couldn't stop you on 3rd down hurt us a lot.

Well, that was a scary win. I'm not sure how I did it. Burgess threw for 360 yards and only completed 55% of his passes. That would have been a beatdown if he had that up over 60%. He's going to be a stud in this league.

GG Boss. It was a bizarre one to watch. Everything went VAN's way early, then the tide started shifting late in the 2nd. Madison completely erases a 24 point deficit but can't finish. Seemed like some weird game engine stuff going for both sides toward the end of the game-made for a crazy finish.

We keep racking up the injuries, not very excited about limping into Georgia for Mahe's return next week.

GG Dakota. It feels nice getting that monkey off our back with the 1st win since joining the league. Rookie QB Mathews had a great game and rookie S Wilcox posted a 1 caught 3 defensed and an INT stat line.

FWIW, i've always found it impossible to win with you players despite the talent. sometimes it takes a few years to get things working correctly.

still very early in the year.
The schedule makers don't like you. Seems like all the games we've played against eachother are in Newark.

On a hot day down on the bayou, two similar teams gave it a go on the old pitch. When the smoke cleared the Voodoo had won the day, barely. Led by the kicking of Corwin “ice” Farmer the Witchdoctors held on for a 13 to 7 win over the Montreal Firebirds.

While the air was filled with yellow flags for most of the day, the Voodoo kept their composure for once in the fourth quarter and had an outstanding defensive stand followed up by a long quarter killing drive by the offense. QB Cris Rivera showed why he won the starters job by having a pretty decent day going 24/33/184 but better still made some good decisions under pressure to keep drives going. Joe Swinton gained 123 yards including the go ahead touchdown on an 18 yard run.

While the F-Birds struggled on offense their defense was a tough and led by S Wes Vaughn with 10 TKLS and LB J.C. Robbins who dominated with 9. The Voodoo were led by LB Wickman and all- world DT Herb Vega. Both teams’ defenses kept their teams in it all day under the boiling Louisiana sun.

Going into their off-week the Voodoo are a surprising 2-1 early in the season, and with a few starters banged up the break couldn’t have come at a better time. Next up in two weeks will be the Portland Seals who appear to be a rudderless ship at the moment. Could the Witchdoctors go to 3 and 1? The small but loyal Louisiana fans can only hope.

Good game, Steve. Burgess just doesnt have enough weapons around him to be truely effective yet. I installed a new gameplan this week, so it was nice to see some positives. Now to tweak and start getting some points on the board.
