  • Discussion about MidWeek

how do you guys want to handle these.

My initial thought was to try and ease into a no midweek process by allowing midweek's at request.
Today I rec'd a request for a midweek, well after a typical midweek and with a player available the typically wouldn't be available. Because I thought there might be an unfair advantage by doing a midweek this late, I declined the request.

    My thoughts are this.

    1. do you want midweeks understanding that the sim time would be during a large window?
    OR
    2. Run without midweeks at all
    OR
    3. midweek requests are made within 12-24hrs of the gameday sim so that everyone will know if there is a sim required.

the main reason that I wanted to eliminate extra sims by me is because it is difficult to nail me to a computer at a defined time during the week. I don't want to be late on sims, so eliminating them was the easiest solution.

I'd like feedback from everyone on what they think.

      GET OFF MY LAWN!

I would go with midweek requests. Make a stickied thread specifically for that. The delete posts when request honored.

I vote whatever works best for Matt

having said that it slipped past me about the lack of midweeks

I did a midweek upload (contract stuff and shuffling the STs around some) and I dont want too redo that crap. There is zero attention paid too any underperforming X-Mule OLBs currently listed as UFAs though

If I was too state Kobeck's opinion I would say run the mid-week anytime that works for you from 0001 tuesday your local time till 2400 thursday.

that way anyone with an injury situation from sunday can do a midweek knowing it will get processed before the weekend. And no mid weeks on double game weeks. Which would kinda ease people off the midweeks.

my $0.02 but as I said Im with whatever Matt says

Chiming in ... I got np going away from them. But why continue to have 7 days between games if we aren't doing midweeks? Maybe we can pick up the pace?

I kind of like having the option available if anyone needs one - maybe the owner would put in a request by 6 pm tues - and the sim would be done anytime between tues night and say fri night - but I can understand if this occurs so infrequently that it is easier just to do away with them.

In the past we've had these votes and people liked the pace of the season. I think the number of people using the midweek file for actual midweeks is probably about 2 or 3. most people either don't use it at all or just submit gameday exports.

I'm leaning against a midweek request because the infrequency of the sim could be an issue. I'd rather handle it by doing a midweek on tuesday with the sim time between 7am to 12am EST(basically at any time on tuesday)
this way you would understand the schedule.

                    +1.

I think we should possibly consider changing the league regular season pace. I really love the Thursday/Sunday sim weeks. Any chance we could throw a poll up to see the interest/dis-interest?

No to changing the pace. This league was founded on a one gameday a week pace. All here joined knowing it is a one gameday a week league. All votes to change the pace in the past have failed.
Its time to give up the change of pace idea.

Needed something to say while coffee was brewing.
