Don't look now, but if the season ended today, the Griz would be playoff eligible! Even though injuries have taken their toll, we are still winning right now. However, don't be surprised if we fall to 3-5-1, after the next 3 weeks!

Jerome Mueller had another stellar game, and our offense looked good early. It looks like we tried to pound it after we took an early lead and just failed to do what we were doing to get the lead!

Our defense looked stout early, but looked poor late, but that is probably because I did not tweak our defense with a lead, as I never thought we would use it.

Great game today. I love it when a game comes down to a hail mary and it turns out in my favor! We really did match each other well. Both the running, passing, and defensive schemes worked about the same for both of us.

The best part is we kept that big mouth James Tart out of the end zone! Until we meet again, I think Ho just proved he's the class of the IFL as far as RB's go!

Just noticed this too but didn't expect it....

My QB Dennis Colella won player of the week for his 18/26 247, 3/1 performance! This is the first good game he has played in a long time! I changed the game plan this week to try to bring down in INT's and it looks like it worked.

Fargo is one of the biggest surprises to me, I really thought they would be competetive in that division.

But stick with it. I know plenty about sucking. I was 4-12 last year, and have been close to the worst team the first two years of the USFL with my Seattle team. Both have turned around some and looking a little better thankfully.

You can still have some fun despite the losing, unless you take this super serious like some owner's I know.

Wichita rolls on. Heading to Clev for a big divisional showdown next week. Had to overcome a few turnovers and the TD our offense gave up to BOS to get the win. Things are looking good.

Terrible loss to divisional opponent Texas. Ugly, ugly game. Texas had two unexpected stand out aspects to its play: QB Chung, who has never seemed like much of anything, raped the Tornadoes D despite playing injured; Secondly, the Texas D put enormous pass rush pressure on Taylor, who completed only 34.5% percent of his passes (9 hurries, 3 blocks, but no sacks).

Tulsa running attack was fierce, but with no pass support they just couldnt get into the end zone.

Tulsa fans are very angry with their punter, who pooched a bunch of 20 yard kicks in critical situations. Rao, a star fullback, played like a sick nun, dropping 5 passes! In 23 games, he dropped 3. But against Texas he drops 5, and he is the go to guy for 3rd down...

Team insiders note that with RB Kwan out of the game with knee trouble Rao was asked to step up, playing the role of 2nd RB and FB. He failed miserably, and the front office is lamenting their decision to resign him last week to a lucrative contract. One anonymous source said to a local reporter, "How the hell did we give him that big hunk of money if he's just gonna be a quitter on us? He didn't show me much want to against Texas, and if he hadn't already resigned you could bet he would not be welcome here next year. Maybe we can trade him if another team needs to fill out their water boy reserves."

Only bright spot was that starting RB Blain rose to the occasion. While he and Kwan had formed a devestating duo until Kwan's injury, Blain showed he is more than man enough to go it alone. In the post game press conference, Blain stated, "I miss Kwan, he's my man and a real inspiration to the team. But I want the rock too, and with him out I got the ball as much as I want for once. Once I finish putting a few bruises on that pussy Rao, I think everyone can be happy with our backfield."

Rao jerseys, recently a hot item in the otherwise desolate Tulsa economy, have now become a source of embarassment. "I thought he was the magic man who could do anything, but now I just want to get rid of this raggedy old jersey" said on crying child as he added it to a Rao-jersey bonfire created by fans in the parking lot after the game.

Hey, Tulsa was riding high when they were 5-0. The fans came to expect excellence. And, no disrespect Texas b/c they obviously showed they were better, but when was the last time they so totally shut a team down. I blame the Tulsa players.

Another tough win in Houston. Down 16-7 with 2:30 to go, we pulled out first a TD, then, after a three and out, the game winning field goal with 0:25 to go.

Once more, we gave up lots of yards on the ground, but we did stop them when it counted. Apart from a 30 yard TD run, they never got into our red zone.

So much for the positives. Now the big question: Where the hell is our running game??? Only pass-oriented Columbia has less rushing yards per game.

I don't think it's Shaun Schutz who has to take the blame. He can only take what's been opened for him. And if you would open the Individual Stats sheet for the Blocking stats, you'd see the dilemma right on the bottom of the list: Two guys without a single KRB, another with only 4, the only decent rating from the guy I thought of as the weakness in the line. Even James Tart would be hard-pressed to perform behind that!

What can I do, besides replacing the whole line? Offering a $100,000 bonus for each block? Or a trout? If I ever find out what I have to do, then lookout league!

Those are some damn tough numbers to live with. :?

                              Nice trout reference too.

Pittsburgh is rapidly becoming the team that nobody wants to play, but mainly because the games are so boring. I think the difference in Pittsburgh's 7-0 victory was line play. At one point in the second half, we got a sack or a hurry on 5 straight plays. The oline really came up big then with an 11 play drive that took the last 6 minutes of the game, and prevented one of those screwy comebacks in the final seconds.
